Say hello to Phoenix

(JesseKomm) #41

@MissMurder Yeah it really made people lean towards Phoenix, but you all did a great job covering your tracks and making people think it was Stoker in the end. I always knew it was Phoenix though, makes the most logical sense for the game to have him sooner rather than later.

reads thread title

Hello Dr. Phoenix ! #PhoenixHype

(Szakalot) #43

kek + chopper + drilled + healing radius increase: best loadout detected

(Wolffe7) #44

Maybe, but Hochfir doesn’t sound like bad choice too. Phoenix will probably be the one running around the map and rezzing others so Hochfir might be good for spraying down the enemies on your way

(Eox) #45

I wouldn’t say that until I see the rest of the loadouts available. You know, just in case there’s a Healing Radius + Get Up card.

Charge Up + Healing Radius + Get Up. Downside is that you get the SMG-9.

(SteelMailbox) #47

Is it just me or in the trailer it seemed like they increased the bloom of the Hochfir

(Alchimi) #48

Time to use the hochfir to see if it’s it as nice as the kek or crotzni…

(Szakalot) #49

its not

(LifeupOmega) #50

@MissMurder So, release tomorrow? Would make a wonderful birthday present!

I remember phoenix from beta, but it was slightly different (no charge healing wave, just constant heal). I doubt this will shake the competitive meta, but let’s see, maybe we are going to be surprised. From my point of view, the self revive takes just too long, coupled with the long cool-down. Then the heal wave? Requires a lot of luck/ co-ordination in order to be effective.

So definitely a fun merc to play! but let’s see the impact on comp.

imo phoenix was pretty good back then (instant healing pulse that regened health like a sawbonez medpack, self-revive mostly situational but had its uses); now its even better:

  • healing is instant - HUGE game changer, finally an offensive medic; Fragger walks in guns blazing, phoenix already charged up a heal.
  • healing is in radius - you can insta-full heal the entire 5-player team
  • kek10 - def. better than crotzni in comp, useful at all ranges; not just up close
  • self-revive: won’t make a huge difference but there are spots where dying will hide your corpse from the enemy: any ledge where you’d fall dying, balcony terminals when shot from down below, long-range deaths when people are distracted by other teammates.

Overall, Phoenix looks better than ever, and will likely be a go-to merc on offense. One sawbonez for heal between fights and one phoenix for huge heal mid-fight sounds like the way to go.

I guess Phoenix will be my go-to medic from here on. Those skills just look suh-weet!

Isn’t the SMG-9 a bit viable now, post patch?

(LifeupOmega) #54

Yep, it’s definitely competitive enough to challenge the Crotzni.

(watsyurdeal) #55

Until all full autos behave like the M4 in terms of predictable recoil pattern and spread, I think there’s always going to be that gun that just simply feels the most consistent, which is the Crotzni right now.

(Alchimi) #56

its not[/quote]

Yeah I just tried it with nader. Damn it feels weak! I’ve got to spray for at least 1 full second on someone to kill him… I think I’ll craft a random iron loadout card asap as I unlock phoenix to get either crotzni or kek10 straight away…

(tropicalDirector) #57

“Say hello to Phoenix.”

Hello!

And Fletcher-Proxy still destroy the party.

its good on proxy, cause its very accurate with low recoil; so you can run&hop&gun very effectively, but it lacks the punching power on slower characters.

Would be funnier if it was “Say hello to Turtle” :stuck_out_tongue:
