Save Our Execution!

@Mc1412013 there is a petition in the wings! Some one I know is working on it.

Mods will take down posts that promote such a thing.

As one of the people in the screenshot I can definitely say that the sense of community we have within Execution is far better than that of the other game modes. Most of the people in DB I know have been through Execution and the hours spent in that game mode with those people have been the best in the game for me.

It’s not about whether or not you LIKE the game mode. You can have a pub stomp and ruin the game for everyone on the server in ANY mode. I see a lot of people leave Execution matches because if they aren’t doing well then they look like a loser in a way that the other modes don’t make you look. But this is the nature of all games. Most people who play aren’t competitive. And as is stated in other posts, if we can’t mix up the game modes then we’ll just play a different game.

I’m not here to grieve for Execution. I’ve accepted that it will end, and with it those communities. I just want to say thanks to the Blood clan and Jemstar in particular for making the Execution servers great.

@Melinder good to know…Tho I’m not really promoting it, just replying to a post that what they said they wanted to do may be happening already.
I’m happy to just use the forums for people to express their dissatisfaction with this decision.

I hope that when they finally cut execution from the map they are gonna have a big celebration for getting rid of that monstrosity.

I’m going to laugh when you realize the magnitude of this decision

I won’t cry over the supposed 5% uninstallers that’s for sure.

And I won’t respect the opinion of someone who is clearly selfish and shows no empathy for others. Sure its a game… but clearly some people enjoy this game mode. I’d say something like “I hope they remove something from the game that you really enjoy next” but I actually don’t wish that, I don’t know why anyone would.

Your right to not respect my opinion but IMO 5% aren’t worth the money and resources spent into it.
The “Decrease servers” solution raises the question of exactly how much are needed and in every given time there will either be not enough servers or too many servers.
Sorry if you think I am selfish, and trust me I show empathy, but the truth of the matter is that in SD’s mind (and kind of my mind as well) Execution is just not worth it.
It was pretty obvious this point will come eventually ever since CW, we knew that the ultimatum of Execution or not was gonna be presented in the future, for you it was fun while it lasted but it is time to move on, games change gamemodes get put in and taken out for a multitude of reasons and Execution is just one of those cases.
If the Execution community was this vocal before they might have had a chance, but the decision was made and sadly that’s the way it is. Time to move on.

In extreme cases such as this one, I would probably allow a petition for saving execution (tho I would probably not sign it).

Petitions made out of nowhere for less important stuff (like this guy who asked for a merc buff with a petition while a simple feedback thread was plainfully enough) would be taken down, but in this case and context it’s important enough to be worth one. Basically, it’s a case by case analysis, like most moderation stuff.

-5% vs 95%
-somehow 95% selfish
-5% lacking consideration of 95% of other players who dont like execution
-somehow 95% is selfish
-showing no emphaty to 95% of other players who dont like execution and SD developers who had to go thru the mess that is execution mode
-but the 95% of the player is the one that are selfish and heartless

im literally shaking right now

edit:5% time spent so my whole argument is wrong

It’s actually 5% time spent in Execution, not 5% of the whole population of Dirty Bomb players

woah is that even smaller than i think it is?

(watsyurdeal) #50

My guess, they’re taking it out to completely rework it, and introduce it later. But also don’t want people to think it’s a primary game mode in it’s current state.

Just what I think will happen, the fact is not enough people play it, and it’s dead weight on a ship that needs to set it sails on a different course.

(The Enema Bandit) #51

Don’t be sad. There is still execution in North Korea.

(bgyoshi) #52

This isn’t a popularity contest

The 5% player play time is just the caveat.

They don’t want an Execution TDM game in DB, it was never their intention. They’re cutting ties to get rid of TDM, not because the mode is unpopular

Sorry guys… DB is an Obj/SW game, not a CS:GO TDM game.
