True, just checked it out, BUT at least he’s moved them into his own texture directory - IE it won’t cock up other people’s mapping.

ye it is, its caused me a lot of hassle, since i ended up re texturing over 100 brushes after deleting trainyard, and then checkin back to this forum, i had to re brush about 250 more thanks to ds_bunker (and all of its wonderful (ahem) versions)
Yeah I know it’s a pisser for those it caught out, but hopefully this will prevent it happening in the future.

it looks completely fucked up now, :(, i need some help from someone on re making inside, since it looks crap, and i am concentrating on other unfinished parts right now.
Wtf is wrong with using textures that sd included in the editor so we can use it in our maps?? I putted them in the original lights directory, so that when you installed the editor you wont have 2 textures twice. And if i added it to my own directory, i’m gonna be blamed by a sd guy for using there textures in my own directory. Do you really think that these textures are made by hell or something? And, if i didnt include these, people without the editor will see orange with black sqaures. Damn man, you really should get a life, it’s not the end of days you know…
What makes you think you are going to get told off for putting them in your own directory? That’s EXACTLY what you should be doing, regardless of whatever your reasoning is.

Bear in mind you ARE allowed to include ET textures in your own PK3s - one use might be for example if you want to add detail to a wall texture. In this case you’d copy the texture, edit it, and once again SAVE IT IN YOUR OWN UNIQUE MAP FOLDER in textures.
The EULA allows for this repackaging / tweaking of ET assets for ET maps, so you can’t get into trouble for that.

Mappers be aware, I’d advise you to remove the BETA version of my map if you have it.

and for those of us that have BOTH the RTCW and ET what would you suggest? Come on, go out and by RTCW, it’s a great game and so is ET!
It’s quite simple - if mapping for ET, use ET assets. Perhaps I should start including assets from minesweeper because I have that too?

Come on… sound like you’re just disapointed cause you don’t have all the textures people use when mapping… or angy over the fact that some people might forgett to include the textures they use in the map the design…
no, it is when our pk3’s get mucked up and we must go and find which textures they are, and as we search in out own dir’s they are floating around in miltary_wall…!
and there we have the confession… So the bottom line are just as I thought… People hate when their walls float in deeper space…
hi, as some of you may know i run a site called www.etmaps.com where ppl can download maps (pimpage over) and i have decided after gerbil pointing me in this direction that where as i will supply these maps for d/l i intend to segregate them under a different section, pointing out that these maps cause issues for mappers, now on this thread i have noticed various map names and .pk3 names, but what i really need is a simple list consisting simply of
<Official Map name>, <Pk3 name> so i can make sure i get the right map segregated (dont wanna go moving maps that have no problems), if some1 could sort this and maybee keep it up to date or just pm me when a new one crops up, that would be a help, thank you
Apparently all the beta versions of TANK use RTCW textures without changing the shaders.
BadIdea has stated he’ll fix this for the final release, so once that’s out it shouldn’t be a problem fingers crossed
