Revived enemy protection

Well you can suicide and press K (or it’s K on my setup) and you can’t be revived then.

That’s good to know, but I don’t like giving up. I will fight till my last breath, even if that means running in with a knife. However, if I can do that while downed, that solves my problem right there.

Yeah, it pops up when you’re downed. It basically puts you into the same state as if you were gibbed. And I don’t see it as giving up because you can then cycle through living people and gain some position knowledge before you respawn that you wouldn’t have had otherwise.

Thanks for the interesting and well developed thoughts guys. I was fearing to be a lone wolf not completly satisfied with the current revive system. I hope that some of the devs are giving a look here… I more than agree with @Kroad for the scoring system : even though K/D is not shown during the game anymore, this would be cool to not get +1 death on bad revive. This would indeed promote medic teamplay and give an incentive to players to not go on gibbed state too early.

thing is: how do you differ a bad revive from a good one?

if you die without dealing damage? or die within 3 seconds? I can think of multiple scenarios where this would be the case, and the revive saved the day anyways.

Honestly, the protection lasts as long as the person isn’t moving so it’s fine. I’ve never had a problem with this because I either:

1)Line my crosshair with the head of the recently revived player and prefire = instadead
2) Work around the player, kill the medic, and then the player (who is usually at half health and without a full mag and/or reloading)

What the real problem is, the lack of any indication of this to the revived player. Its easy to get confused when you wait for 15sec and suddenly get revived in the midst of all chaos.

If its clearer how the protection works to the player, the time its lasting can be reduced, making others less pissed at wasting bullets

I like the idea of a kneeling animation. It allows the player to choose when to come back, but slows them down. ~ET style getup.
