RAD Soldiers Debut Tournament

So… I actually would like to see some games WITHOUT this so 100% common setup…
I don’t know how you feeling about this but it is getting so boring. Bridge: we both on that single spot. nearly not moving. If I hadn’t done the aggressive turn there we would probably remain there for ages?!
could we / you maybe decide on another setup // forbid that setup [did tell it yet though : commander (artillery, cold audomatic) gus marx (mp5) juan (botherer) ] for the final round? it is good (no doubt) actually some OP the weapon +juan combo … I mean it’s 210-240 dmg on full energy and that’s quite easy to achieve with gus… so if you use any midweight or lightweight unit you HAVE to stay out of range for ages and find a little hole once in time to get closer… I just think it is boring

I actually was playing 5 games vs catnadain but he won the first 3 so we did not finish the remaining 2 ( that’s why the count says: 3 / 0 not 2/0 )

Is there a winner yet for tinker-sandpuppy?

If you guys have a different proposal on how to play the final: please share

Not playing the tourny so may not have a voice but…
In the finals play 2 matches on <pick a map> and each player starts one match 1st. Play 2 matches on <pick a map> and each player starts one match first. Deciding match is on <pick a map> and the player with most exp starts first (at this level starting first may not be that big an advantage).

Or

Continue to play 2 matches per map and alternating who starts first. First player to win both matches on 2 different maps wins.

The real competition is that both sides are mandated to have the same lineup and same capt skills. This can be done by somebody playing a couple new login’s ahead of time to get them to the same level and PM’ing the login’s and creds to the players. Kind of a (shudder) NASCAR approach.

it is 1 / 0 in his favour

atm we are stuck at park. actually he didn’t move for 2 turns and now we are going to the left an right. I made the agressive turn on Bridge when we got stuck so actually i think he will not do anything agressive … so I have to do that what gives me another disadvantage.

we are at turn 17 I think with 0 dmg to any character. seems like we live at different timezones. I do my turn, wait for 17-36 hours for his turn, he then waits between 5mins and 12 hours for mine and then I wait again.

I try to do something to get out of that position right now and finish the match finally but as I said… it’s hard to move even 1 cell ahead because I get in range of his sniper…

(Sandpuppy) #445

with our setup and this map, whoever moves into the scoring area first is going to loose
we cann call it a tie and move on to the next game, but paul still did not clarify to which map

(Catnadian) #446

I have some thoughts, but I want to see if the tournament doesn’t time out first, so to speak. :stuck_out_tongue:

(Catnadian) #447

Don’t you just use the upper bracket map list for a reference?

(Paul) #448

Eventually all 5 maps need to be played for the final (or just 1 more if you guys want that, so a best of 3). in which order, you may seek for yourselves. Moving on might be a good idea and leave it as a ‘tie’

(Sandpuppy) #449

I was refering to the bracket map list and thought we were supposed to play “Round 6 (Winner Lower Bracket)”

but what paul says sounds like we should skip that and play this as a final, one game on every basic map?

Ow wait no sorry thought we were talking about the grand final but it was the lower bracket final of course.

Lower bracket final (which I guess you guys are playing now) you can just use this map list:

Bridge
Park Square
Train Station

Or use others if you both agree.

What s the current state?

(Sandpuppy) #451

I challenged tinker to trainstation, no guz, no juan

well. I wouldn’t call it a tie yet. so would be awesome if you don’t stop playing right now…

(Sandpuppy) #453

sry, somehow I lost interest in running back and forth, if you do not agree that the game is a tie then I forfeit, I do not want to argue and I play for the fun of it

(Catnadian) #454

We are gathered here today in memory of the Lower Bracket, taken too soon.

(Sandpuppy) #455

we both have only one toon with little health left and are not yet stuck in a tie, so since I resigned the the other game we are on 1-1 and will soon have a decision on who will play with you in the final

(Paul) #456

Thanks for the update.

(tinker) #457

sad sad. I seem to finally have missed my poison grenade after doing the “same” turn over and over when my game crashed 10 times in a row… It should have hit all 3 characters but what shall I do. 29 hp left… sad sad

he has won the match

(Ciakgb) #458

For the love of Pete, finish already, I’ll be gray(er) before the next tourney!!!,

So that will be Catnadain - Sandpuppy in the finals :)?

Evaluation topic will be this week, subscriptions for new tourney will open within 7 days as well

(Sandpuppy) #460

yes, so any special rules for the final? what happens if the result is 3-3?
