overall the system looks very good mate just a little expensive.

Thx for reply!

it is idd very similar, but 1000 pounds today is 1256.89 euro + sending fees. So maybe just a little less expensive.
only the i5 … is a little bit to slow… over 4 ghz would be better or not?

and you dont need 750 w power … i use a enermax 500w …and all its fine…think 600w is maximum

and plz use more than 8gb ram

my specs atm:

Athlon FX Quad Core 4.8 GHZ OC (with Corsair Watercooling System) cost the half of a intel cpu…!!!

Gigabyte Mainboard GA78LMT - USB 3

16 GB DDR 3 Ram G-Skill 1600

GTX 770 Windforce 3 (Watercooled)

2 SSD Adata a`256GB

2 Sata 3 WDC a` 1TB

Enermax Power 500W

Exodus Gaming Keyboard

Logitech Mouse G400s (with Logi Mousepad)

Windows 7 64Bit Ultimate
I could safe on power supply and by i7 with 4 Ghz maybe but I think it will go over 1500 euro’s then. I am just searching for a fast and stable CPU with good price/performance. I could go for the Athlon if you say they are half the price. Do they have the same performance?

very good specs you have!

Speed is not everything when it comes to AMD vs INTEL.
Look here and you will see a 3.4Ghz Intel vastly out performs a 4.8Ghz AMD.

However, fzl is right, you are going to want to overclock that thing to around 4.5Ghz and then you will be top tier on CPU performance (for gaming).

Interesting

That would be my next question: how do you overclock? I have no idea… And would you need extra cooling?

i buy a athlon for 90euro a intel with this performance coasts 200 or mor euro…i have some atlon cpus for testing the “a” series is **** the phenoms are **** too only the fx series have the stable power for gaming…

but when you oc the fx then his tempereature goes over 60° with air cooling…the corsair hydro all in one water cooling system gives me the low temperatures… ingame at 28° desktop 14°

ok ihave a special case… Aero Xcool Tube

check this out:

and this here is the water cooling system:

and btw this is the cpu:

You are right the FX is a bargain, however thats not really how building a system works when you have a higher budget. I know its spoken about a lot but “future proof” is a very important concept. The FX is a decent CPU right now and you will likely not notice too much difference over the Intel right now. However, the FX is also going to need replacing much sooner due to performance limitations.

if you was building a system for £600 quid then I would actually recommend that CPU.
If you are building one for £1000 I would recommend an i7 or i5 every time.

Two things I need to say:

 1. Power consumption is a factor to consider. In heat, noise and longterm costs.

 2. For the love of god go to a proper and dedicated hardware forum that has more people with profund knowledge of the hardware, the market and of how to ask the right questions guiding to your new system (which is the most important). “I got this, its super” is not a good base for any project. No offense, but some comments here make my buyer beware alarm ring very loud.

(“Aim at the feet! Its how I do all my headshots!” AAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!)

I follow the forum too rarely but I am sure that Pixel (thanks mate, youre a gem) will love to direct you to a nice and competent PC builder community of your country.
