Questions + answers(hopefully)

Seems like you know SD very well with your 2 posts

But Rex, I’m sure he’s read every CoD fanboy’s negative reviews about how SD games aren’t just like every other FPS out there, so clearly he hates them too.
For those, who likes it synthetic. For those who like it clear…

Questions from the community, strait to the developer.:stroggtapir:

To start:

 1. What has generally happened to the classes?
 2. Is VOIP going to be turned ON by default?
 3. Only city-maps?

Thank you for the questions and answers, as well as for moving the discussions to the separate threads - just to keep it informative first of all :).
You missed the most important question. Will this game have movement and shooting mechanics similar to W:ET? If not this will fail.

(Atheist4Jeezuhs) #24

I really liked the shooting and movement mechanics in Brink, but I just got tired of the game modes. They suffered way to much from defenders advantage.

So please just make balanced game modes where the teams have to both do an objective while defending their own (EX: CTF or something relevant to the game fiction), but don’t just have attack/defend.

Objective type where one team defends and another attacks is pretty much a staple for this developer and didn’t hinder the success of their previous titles. I think the real problem in terms of how easy it was for defense to turtle up and full hold far too frequently in both pub and competitive play is more attribute to map design and spawn times. Although I agree it was too easy to defend in Brink which led to somewhat stale and at times extremely long repetitive sessions, it will hopefully be dealt with through feedback in testing and release of an early release of an SDK and not changing to game modes that are already in the majority of the FPS out there.

(Lynox) #26

(daank) #27

(Tandem) #28

competition ready?
shoot and move like et &/or etqw?

-thanks in advance

(Seanza) #29

I’m not a Linux user myself, but I would like to know the answer to this. Specifically if there will be dedicated server files for Linux.

(schnoog) #30

The question whether there will be a linux server available or not will decide about the game success.

Our clan was waiting for Brink linux dedicated server files from the very beginning.
Because this was missing, we decided to skip Brink (senseless to rent a windows dedi if you`re running 3 linux roots already)

Why are you still on XP?
