Godlike on pubs don’t count

Badges are fun and all, but godlike is hardly the badge to end all badges.
That badge promotes the playstyle I probably hate the most, the guys who are too scared to move towards the enemies, hang around cover and never play the objective, too scared of their precious k/d.

I really like that they added badges for objectives now, and I expect to get quite a few of those, whenever I actually play the game. (Because clearly I play not nearly as much as the rest of y’all)

I played Phoenix today on Underground and got a godlike.I didn’t hide, I healed my team a lot and ran around the whole time, reviving everyone.I managed to last a long enough time, retreating whenever it was necessary and then coming back with full hp.So you’re wrong about that.People who get godlikes often, don’t do stupid things like rushing and staying in the middle of the battle but neither do they hide in the back and wait for someone to go by.They play tactically as they should.

I think not many forumites are kind of people who would just camp, at least ones who would post here

(IAmYourDad) #45

Yeah, i do not get many godlikes.

@Ctrix nah in pubs it’s really easy to get. I usually play min 10 and now min 20 (super happy) and it’s a lot harder because you get better players usually*, also playing tactically helps I wouldn’t call it camping.

(PeneTraitor) #47

Amen. I got a godlike with phoenix the other day and I was more happy with that than any of the others because the others I earned were with explosive characters like fragger and proxy where I could get kills from safety. With phoenix I was all over the battlefield reviving, healing and shooting to earn it. I even had a couple knife kills in the mix.

The honor guard badge is so broken xD

I seem to have a knack for First Blood and Explosions, but not much else.

I am literally the exact opposite of that type of player and I have probably 100 hours of gameplay on youtube that shows it. I know you weren’t targeting me specifically but I felt the need to speak up. I don’t sit in a corner and go 15-0 with a medic beside me every other map hoping I get a Godlike or some aces. I like putting myself in bad situations and coming out on top and testing my aim and mental awareness. It’s one of the things that keeps me enjoying the game on pubs (which includes min10 servers…which I have plenty of video of as well).

Also, stats are just fun

@Amerika thank god it’s possible to play well with that kind of attitude

I sometimes think that I need to play more reserved and focus on surviving if I’m ever going to get really good at the game, but I don’t really want to have to play that way. I live for the thrill of getting awesome ego-stroking multikills even if it often means dying in stupid ways the other 80% of the time.

This post gives me hope that some day I will turn that 80% into 1% and escape hopeless medicority to become actually good at Dirty Bomb at some point in the future.

For that, I thank you.

(On topic: I will be posting my badges as soon as my number of “Dominating” badges surpasses my number of “Revenge” badges, which should be soon "^.^)

Well, this is also pub play I’m talking about. If I was playing in a legit match my play-style would be quite a bit different where you move between playing super reserved and aggressive based on spawn times and team pushes. I do watch the spawn timer and use it to be more aggressive than normal on pubs but I don’t live by it like i would in a real match. I also don’t kill out in a pub even if I’m out of ammo where I would constantly in a real match. Also, I wouldn’t walk into a crossfire and hope to win out in an organized match but I do it in pubs all the time.

In real matches the timing of when you get kills and holding areas/denying areas is incredibly more important than raw killing potential. Killing potential and having better aim is important but it’s not the most important thing in the game. However, it’s what I have the most fun with in unorganized games.

That’s amazing badges for level 21! Makes my badges look crap

I would post my badges, but I still can’t screenshot in DB through Steam. No idea why, the FPS overlay works, changing the screenshot key doesn’t change anything and screenshots work on all my other games

You have 10,879 Triple Kill badges. Killing enemies at a rate of 1/second, it would take you 9 hours to get that many badges… Wow

p.s. just realised I end all my sentences with a emoji, is that odd? xD

Ace > Godlike imo
