Plant Tree

(damocles) #21

So it ok to change the setting apply the trees in 1 area , then go back and change the script to apply diffrent trees in an other area.
Like i like the foliage in E.T, but would rather apply that myself using the above method, is this possable and wont cause error’s?

Nopers, don’t do that. Foliage is a shdaer controlled thingy that happens at runtime. Do NOT plant foliage as individual models. The reaosn being that if they are models made with the tree planter, people on slowers systems won’t be able to turn the foliage off and so will get horrible frame rates on your map.

Where is the planter button?

Thanks,

In GTKRadiant version 1.4.0 it’s in the plugins menu:
“plugins -> bobtoolz -> tree planter”

I followed the directions exactly, but this is what happens. Nothing appears on the top of the selected brush. when I left click within the bounds of the brush (from top view) I see little boxes appear that read “shader not found” and even if I move around the top view nothing appears. The boxes are within the brush too, not on top of it. Any help appreciated.
