[QUOTE=MoonOnAStick;351263]This comment pretty accurately describes my experience. It’s so frustrating when it feels like you have to ask for permission before attempting each action. The fact that it takes so bloomin’ long just adds insult to injury.
Taking autonomy away from the player is a theme that seems to run through Brink. Whether it’s the ‘one-button-performs-all-actions’ key or the SMART system. (ET: Dragon’s Lair perhaps

I think the problem here is that the system wants you to be able to “comprehensively” see the whole body of your target. I often experience this when my target is downed on some slope or some corner or is very near some world geometry. My half-assed remedy? Try to find a better angle. Man, do I look silly running back and forth/sideways to my target just to find the “reach” point.

This is my experience in a LOT of the games I played, and my class of choice is medic. I gave up playing due to frustration, and the keyboard-shaped bruises on my forehead. It’s so broken, I still keep asking myself how it got through QA. I’d like to be playing and enjoying Brink right now, but to be honest even Minesweeper is more appealing
