As the name states. DeadWalking
@Auzner I will see oyu on there!
I’ll be around. I’m going to need some unicode replacements and x-padding so other morons who do the same think I’m cool.
how about Xx_-ǺǕƵﬨƎƦ-_xX? Though random/alternating casing would be even cooler.
Xx_-ǺȗƵɲƏʁ-_xXﭢ now I can instill the impression that I’m the best gamer ever and really cool.
Just make sure you get the Xx’s in there somehow hahaha.

I have actually known people to do this and it’s quite funny. Mean but funny. Anyway you’re likely fighting an uphill battle to get a laugh on this one… it will most likely use your definable steam name. If not I wonder who makes your top 10 name list… since you can only do it to 10 of them
Pretty sure this means it’s using steam account name/id and whatever people set their alias to.

Some bugger in that group tried to sell me a Brink copy two separate occasions before the game was on sale. As I recall, the second time they (“she”) had got an extra copy on their birthday. It can be funny getting people to bs on the fly before telling them off.
Alias makes sense because that’s how you add people and it just updates if they change their names. But where can you see account name? IIRC early steam sign ups have email addresses as their account names, I just don’t think that’s passed around unless you set your alias to to steam account name.
Hopefully Valve’s additional security measures has limited people handing over their accounts (if not their money) to those scammers.

lol u fail.
u can’t reserve names on steam, it’s not gamespy. You can change you nick to whatever you want, it doesn’t mather if someone else is using it. But i’m glad you wasted some time writing down everyone else’s names for nothing
i believe it did. and if someone is dumb enough to get his steam account AND his email hacked at the same time, he deserves to be robbed
With Steam there is a list of players you’ve recently played with in servers. You can add them to your friends list via that link. It shows their current alias and attached is their SteamID. Steam friends lists also let you see a list of all the aliases you’ve seens from a particular friend in a list.
So… account name is irrelevant
Totally with you up to this point.
and attached is their SteamID.
Where is this? Here’s my recent player list

I can only think you mean the profile link but you can change your profile homepage in settings, it’s not your SteamID or Account. Not being a dick here I just want to be clear if I’m missing something.
Steam friends lists also let you see a list of all the aliases you’ve seens from a particular friend in a list.

Back with you again.
yes there are 4 names that steam manages
account name - never released publicly by games/community unless you divulge it yourself
profile id - used to view your community profile a la steacommunity.com/id/steamid
steam name - shown as your in game name
if you haven’t set the second one it defaults to a long string of numbers
ed: for source games there’s also a thing called a “steam id” which is linked to your account and used for banning users and giving admin privileges
Sorry I wasn’t clearer. By attached I mean attached to the name but hidden in the background since it is an “irrelevant” piece of info for the average user. SteamIDs are only really important to server admins, and they get the SteamID when someone joins their server in the logs anyway.
Cool cool, this is exactly what I thought, I’m not being a retard. today!.
trigg3r, nice site thx.
lol ed , you really was trying to steal other peoples names to use in the game?
You trying to be a total dick or something?
I am glad that its using steam then, so griefers like you just waiste their time xD
Spawnhoax.
Now when we add colors to our names will it look carved up in the steam interface ala cod2? My friends’ names had “^” all over the place.
