[Patch Notes] Meet Sparks

I really hate the revive system, especially with Sparks. Playing against one who knows what they’re doing is frustrating. There are so many times where I’ve been in the middle of a firefight only to have her revive someone from a high window or the other end of the street.

If I try to finish them on the ground with my gun I’m going to be wasting half a magazine in addition to wasting my already meager supply of ammo thanks to the lack of ammo crates. I can’t immediately shoot them because they’re invincible and I have no way of gauging when it wears off besides the stupid little shield icon near their name.

It feels like I’m playing Battlefield where you can be shooting at someone and their buddy spawns on them. You’re dead because most of the time you don’t have enough ammo to kill both of them without reloading.

I really think Sparks’s revive should give drastically less health and shouldn’t give invincibility. Defibrillators I’m fine with.

I just got out of a match where my entire team except me (Aura) and my friend (Kira) had died. Defending Underground with 3 minutes left on the clock and C4 planted.

He ran up to it and defused about 20% before dying. I revived him from a ledge and this happened 2 more times before my team poured into the room and killed everyone.

The enemy team wasn’t too pleased and we ended up winning.

8.5/10 would hug the dev who thought this character was balanced.

Some final words, out of my perspective, on this update after having played a couple of days.

  • First, ok the lvl10-min- servers, quite a nice view in the patchnotes at first, even if they came after a doublexp-weekend. Could have worked. Autojoin on them still doesn’t work, and ghostplayers are shown on them in the browser, we know this one. On top of that, today we had two lvl1 (ONE)-players on a lvl10-min-server. Even worse than two empty spots, waiting to be filled.

  • In trade for the lvl-10-min-servers the favourites in the server-browser now are beeing totally f-ck-d-up. Bad trade imo, having to look through this many servers.

  • Sparks, funny to play, but probably even more situational than Rhino. Still good for farming support-xp.

  • New revive-system, imo ok,

  • The turret-nerf is nice, as I often like playing proxy :wink: Still the bat needs between 5 and 5000 hits to kill a turret, or a healthstation, whatever…

  • Removal/repositioning of ammocrates… Spawncamp on Terminal if the defenderteam is incompetent still is real, else imo quite ok, IF these fops would give ammo, not probably thinking it’s only for themselves.

  • Totally fantastic new merc-bundles, ehm, yeah.

  • The average ancient bugs still exist, and the performance still lacking, so no surprises here.

  • Experience while playing… It is probably the same as before, the lvl10-servers are bugged, showing players while beeing empty, and not even really filling while idling on them in low-times (the old ghost-player-problem?), so they are at best usable in the populated times of a day. And probably from now on, I am not only disliking beginner-medics, but now even beginner-fops, for not doing their job. And mates standing in front of me, in los to the downed mate.
