patch? no big teams

just ran a few quick wake-up matches this a.m.

my “standard” is now 8v8 capable, but big teams was still there…anyone else? (i’m on ps3)

if they both go the same place…cool.
if they somehow create separate servers, needless fragmentation of possible player pools.

is this true, because there was only Standard, no Big Team as of Saturday Night?

Yes.

However, I’ve yet to see Advance go above 8 total human players.
Also, I’ve played several matches in Old Skool that went over 8 total human players.

Ok. What’s the difference between Big Team and Standard then? Is VOIP turned on in Big Team and VOIP is set to off in Standard unless you create a fire team?

Standard is now exactly the way Big Teams was. As far as I can tell.

I was hoping that Advanced had been uncapped, so that I could talk with my whole team, and play with friendly fire on. However, I’ve played over a dozen or so matches there since this latest settings change and still have yet to see more than 8 humans in one match.

I also preferred friendly fire and Advanced as originally released on May 10. Obviously they can change stuff on the backend, so perhaps this will get changed back soon too.

not sure what to think - just ran a few pub matches in “standard” - it really seemed like it was limited to 8 human total - either that or coincidence that only 8 humans entered match (also possible).

until the game (inevitably!) picks up a bit - it would be nice to see fewer funnels into gameplay (either that or lobbies!, lol)

a question though - if i start a freeplay match w/ my own settings, is it then more likely that new randoms will stumble into my game? (assuming I didn’t find one of theirs)…i’ve started more than a few matches where i was the only person (till bot spawn). and if it’s just a matter of me being patient for a few minutes till other randoms show up, fine. anyone have experience on this?

mostly a matter of you being patient if you are initial host. this game is designed for drop in and out play. people will join. your friends can jump in your match when they sign on or randoms can join too. also, people can use friend of a friend to find their way to your game (not many seem to use this but I do)

yeah - i was worried that everyone else was doing what i’d been doing - jumping out when there was just me (them) - if we all sat still for a few min, a fuller match. need to learn patience, i guess.

This may have been changed on the xbox360 but there are both standard and big teams on the PS3. Dont think standard went above 8 total players because I played a few games that were 8 players max. And I was so excited to have those two “lobbies” combined again :frowning:
