I’m gonna re-tread some ground here but that’s bound to happen so we’ll have to just live with it for now lol…also fair warning that some of this may come off a little like a rant, but I feel the need to vent about a couple things right now so we’ll just have to deal with that I guess 0_o
Rocket Launcher -Standard Soldier weapon(swappable with heavy machine gun) 3-5 rounds per. Slower reload, higher splash damage.
Trip mines-seems obvious to include these again here given the terrain
Sprinting reload - obvious reasons
sprinting (fast anim) knife - think black ops here. people hate it because of those of us who are good with it.
In lieu of the good knife config above…Brink style knife and six shooter combo(rarely have I seen any combination of weapons act and feel more awesome in an fps)
Place C4 anywhere
Better splash dmg on grenades
better turrets
guardians would be good too
supply crates(so we can replenish grenades…cause not being able to is retarded)
anti air defenses
radars
disguises(for coverts)
as a high level unlock-1 man tank(think metal slug)
maybe a covert reward that disguises or shadows everyone within a small radius for a small amount of time.
smoke bombs(your team can see through theirs can’t)
customizable classes(kinda like brink)
more areas we can cover in the maps…let us on the rooftops, etc. let us in more buildings, more rooms.
kills should be among the lowest xp scores you get, while objective base xp should be the highest
be able to mark way points on the map so team can meet up easier at a point
more capturable spawnpoints which give a strategic positioning advantage
etc etc etc
- Trollgun: shoots water bubbles disturbing the view of the players. Inflicts no damage.
Teleporter - Although going invisible (MS19 - Gameplay) probably has more wow factor for the covert, I think the teleporter has more creative potential.
EMP - VS Infantry - anti-mana grenade with a slight amount of damage to boot. VS Structures (eg EV / Deployables) complete disable for x amount of time.
I like the EMP, but dont make it a grenade like all the other games … and teleporters ? Maybe a little too futuristic no ?

So you could configure your own class which is more fun and more flexibal than prefonfigured classes. It should be possible to preconfigure your classes and save them so that you can pick them quickly during a game when spawning.
For competition, you could not allow or restrict certain combinaisons or restrict the number an abilitiy or a weapon can be chosen.
It should be tested a lot to avoid imbalance. But because it is still an alpha version and some people are bored maybe it is worth a try?[/QUOTE]

Though I have to say I like the EMP nade which got mentioned quite often now, to diable the EV for some secs or do disable other things. (Would have been also my suggestion)

Are you in the wrong thread?
maybe a IED rather than a grenade since they are so small because it would have to hold a lot of charge in order to stop it rather than something the size of a nade, the emp nade fits more with disabling things like the 3rd eye camera for the covie and sensor as well as the engy turrets
i asked for something similar way back. a car bomb. C4 ++. single use large area massive destruction.
i think it would suit the DB theme well.

What doesn’t fits in DB imo is disguise, invisibility, teleport etc. those abilities suits more in a stealth or futuristic shooter.
What I want from new content: BALANCE (and also skilled use if possible)
Ex. Give up med packs for a healing station. OMG healing station gay spam, but oh wait no med packs guess it’s not a big deal.
Ex. Rocket launcher OMG OHK LAMER. Slow projectile/slow firing charge time, guess it’s hard to use after all.
Pro/con systems make sense, and allow for more variety and complex choices. (plus more sales value)
Distribution:
Selling separate balanced class load outs will probably work, but at the cost of only having access to one style of play unless you drop some cash. It’s not a bad idea, but it’s just restrictive to players.
Everyone calls a point allocation system lame and omgerd we will just find de best way to spend em and all play the same thing. How are we to say the same thing wouldn’t happen with class loadouts or whatever else because heck I can apply the same cynical prediction to anything. What’s best obviously shouldn’t be an inherent choice, but personal preference otherwise hurr durr it’s a separate problem. I just see having to buy every class loadout just to vary my style of play being way less attractive.
This is why being able to allocate points towards certain things and be able to purchase things individually that result in being able to customize my class at a basic level seems really nice when I don’t want to buy every new merc pack that has something that fits my style. It’s doable when you simply create two systems that (1) balance out the strengths of basic class functions (2) balance out the weapon/tool abilities of classes. Then your essentially able to customize the purpose of your class to the extent of having most of the load outs already available to you right when you start. Then as you gain levels you purchase more specific items and the like that balance out with your preferences. It essentially results in the same thing as separate balanced class load outs, however it makes things realistically accessible to everyone and breaks down the micro transactions into more bite sized pieces. The less people have to pay for a piece of content, the more content will sell.
We can always be like OH NO JUST DO ONE CLASS ONLY COMP GAME ONLY SCREW PUB! Seems like the most convenient way of avoiding any work and having a less interesting game overall. And since pub has to have these things regardless, then putting in no effort to flesh out ideas there will just kill the game. Of course we will just blame SD for having put them there in the first place, but got forbid they develop and release game and expect to make an income.
Being alpha testers we have access to everything so we don’t really think ahead. What’s going to happen when 99% of the game’s community only has access to one class load out? Are we just gonna tell them to all play comp mod or just buy everything? Are we going to tell SD to just have one load out for each class and then go bankrupt for our sake? We can keep calling every new ability super lame or broken per video update, but if we don’t actually suggest how to make them work or give any idea to replace them then we contribute nothing. New ideas are only lame and broken if that’s how they are made. Sniper rifles, rocket launchers, etc were all lamer OHK no skill weapons in every other game until the bar was raised in RTCW/ET/etc, so why can’t the same be done for anything else?
to clarify: DB is a futuristic shooter no doubt. Technology atm is more advanced than you think, your welcome to investigate. Second point, this game is set in 10 years; some things which I had posted or others might sound weird, but is not that far away. (for example: smartphones, ask a dude from 2000 if he can imagine using one^^)

- Engineer: i want to repair stuff with repair tool, not only EV
