Appreciate the thoughts! It IS a really steep learning curve and I have definitely noticed if there is even 1 founder on the other team it gets really difficult. We have level locked servers to kind of hope that the big dogs head there.
New Player Experience (grows on you, but not too good, honestly)
So much this ! I would like to be able to train some parkour tricks without wasting a slot in public games and being shot.
Cant you just go to a server with 0 people?
I can’t launch the game on a server with 0 person. And even if I were able I wouldn’t, because someone would join the game and screw up my training session, and I have no right to invade a server by myself and tell the others to go away.
A free roaming system available while offline is much better than “serverjacking” an empty server.
I have been in empty lobbies, and it doesn’t even start. Just says “waiting for 1 more player”. I don’t know what the game does if a map is running and everybody leaves though. I would assume that it abandons the game and returns to lobby.
In any case, I’d absolutely love a free roam. It should be added to the training HUB IMO. It doesn’t make sense to advertise it as real offline play without bot support, but would fit well in the training HUB (it would also make it a real HUB rather than just a single tutorial). If you wanted to get fancy, it could actually have tutorials on each map, like markers around the map telling you what everything is about (secondary objectives and such). Maybe reward an achievement if the player went through the map checking out all the guides.
A quick question on that. Do you gain XP still if you quit out of a match? For example, if somebody decided they wanted to smurf and destroy players without as much experience would they be able to quit before the end of the match and not gain any XP per level? If so, I can see people doing that and making new players lives miserable.
This game, even the casual seen, is for more of the competitive player base. If you are looking for a game that requires no skill and is super easy play COD.
Eh, my first day was completely different. I personally find this game very easy, but maybe because my main games have usually been shooters.
The game is very easy if you have played this style of FPS before, how ever a lot of my Counter strike friends who play this game (always will be exceptions of course as well) are not particularly good at this game sure they can hit heads, but the movement and pace of the game really screws them up.
But I agree with you this game was very easy to get into.

Uhh that was the last game I was really into lmao, well CSGO and APB, this is the first fast paced FPS I’ve really played hahaha
Last but not least, you paid for a closed beta lol… the game isn’t finished yet. Things will be easier to learn when its over.
- We can talk about competitive DB after first tournament,
- I’m guessing you have won few tournaments in CoD and retired.
I paid for closed beta because I loved Brink so much, and whether to give some money to EA:DICE this year or SplashDamage was a no brainer for me.

- discovered the funny grenade is really an airstrike on the default merc (no thanks, tutorial!) Still no idea why it works only sometimes
Doesn’t it literally say Airstrike next to it?
LOL. But it’s a case of having too much to take in at once. I only thought is was obvious ONCE I noticed it, I was busy re-adjusting my expectations and generally getting shot before that.
It may well have been! I have a feeling it’s key to know why our gaming experience differed so much.
nothing special happened to you m8. this is what for the pub servers are. try thing, try merc u never played, go to places on map u never been, shoot on the wall see how weapons work, change options. If u not familiar with SD type games the learning curve is slower just be patient and hf
see. See! this is how bad things are getting. People who loved brink are arriving and saying they like the game because it reminds them so much of brink.
game over man game over
