I just dropped my sens to 10 @ 800dpi the other day. I get around 1’/360 and it feels pretty solid, but in the past I used very high sens so it just depends on how much time you have avail to adjust to the game. Also setting smoothfps=true and using a min/max value that averaged my FPS margin seems to make things feel much less choppy in the mouse movements (115-125). I really do think that stable frame rates make the most difference.
New player, Curious about the mouse sensitivity.
Explanation:
(Rotation units/360°) / (Default sensitivity multiplier) = (Sensitivity units/360°)
For unreal: (2^16) / 1 = 65536
For source: 360 / 0.022 = 16363.636363636…
So the sensitivity ratio between the two is: 65536 / 16363.636363636… = 4.004977777…
FYI to anyone also, turn off oneframethreadlag or whatever it’s called. It causes the mouse floating and was very very noticeable on my Logitech g400.
I think people say it’s high dpi with low sens for track aim and low dpi with high sens for twitch aim, which you use is personal preference.
My mouse is locked at 800 dpi which iirc is good for 5"/360+, which is fine because I use about 10"/360.
I’ve never heard high dpi for better track aim. I think I use 800 dpi too. I think 1800ish is about as high as you should go for fps.
There is a lot of thinks and thoughts but no proof anywhere. Theoretically high DPI means better mouse movement approximation, but this depends larhgely on a particular mouse sensor model and its artefacts in different DPI ranges.
Here’s an interesting read for anybody interested in mice:

What would be nice is being able to input the number in the options as well as a slider. I hate how COD doesnt let you do that.
One of the first things I want to do when getting into a new MP game is bring down the console and set my sens.
I know we can set sens here but it was a bit counter intuitive for me. Read: i had to ask how to do it.
Console will still be enabled in the game once it goes live?
SD has done a good job with the input, this engine is pretty different from Quake.
If you find your ShooterEngine.ini, the command line OneThreadFrameLag=False can have none, subtle, or sometimes drastic changes to responsiveness. I’ve found setting it to false generally keeps my input feeling more consistent.

This is also listed in the video options menu as ‘One Frame Interval’
i always have a bad feeling when lowering the mouse sens ingame to under 5.
Best result for me is to have ingame at its standard 10 and adjust my dpi…
I personally play with 5.5 and 800dpi. I have giant mouse mats and a full 360 is a 36cm movement
People call my crazy but I even play Q3 like that

U must be crazy!
I’m interested if the things pulley said are true.
I play with 800dpi and sensitivity of 6 (I think I need something between 30 and 35 cm /360°)

!! I play with 5700 DPI, sense 3 and 1000hz polling rate… probably more out of laziness than preference.
everything over 800 dpi is luxury
800 dpi is already pretty high for me xD just got 450^^

Just curios, why do you feel it is too high for you?

That’s not crazy at all. I know players who play on 50cm up to even 70cm.
