@Samniss_Arandeen
My uncles a smith and I’ve worked with him on occasion. Now what he makes look as deadly as they are! But your point is valid, in the UK years ago the old fashion gang members would carry a ‘Priest’ on them, its basically a hardwood nightstick about 7 or 8 inches long and would weigh a couple of lbs. My grandad had one and they usually drilled a hole through the middle running the length and fill it with lead to make it even heavier and my god would they pack a punch!
New melee ideas

Fletcher got his engineering start chopping down vegetation to forge paths through the African wilderness. Now he engineers his way through mofos’ necks.
Wakizashi
A smaller, lighter, faster sword than a Katana, traditionally carried by samurai inside their homes, and by women when the men were out fighting. When Kira is forced to deal with enemies a tad too close for her crack marksman skills, she carries on the tradition.
Balisong (butterfly) Knife
For any Filipino Mercs that come along.
Hockey Stick
Now you can score or keep goal with pride. For Fragger, because he’s the Canadian around here.
Barbells
Rhino lifts so many weights, he can carry the whole team.
Wait wait wait, Fragger is Canadian!? Please tell me yes, I already love him and if he is I’ll love him even more. :D
He is. I say that with all the roses in the world, eh?
That. Is. Awesome. As a Canadian I guess that is why I flocked to him as my main merc, we can just identify one another, fictional or not… we may not know it, but subconsciously we do. In that case, absolutely YES he needs a hockey stick, or hell even a curling broom! :3
Or maybe just running aboot kicking enemies with his boot.
Easter Egg: Curling Broom or Hockey Stick loadouts replace his Frag Grenades with exploding bottles of maple syrup.
Not even exploding, maple syrup in and of itself would be a huge detriment to the enemy… adds -60% movement speed and jams all weapons/slows reloads… pretty powerful in my book, perfect weapon, delicious and devastating. ;)
And if you planned on throwing something , tough luck. It’ll stick to your hand!
That would be a useful secondary ability for Fragger, being able to throw what is effectively a glue bomb.

Those staves sound good. Druid wants one as his ritual staff.
Can I see some pictures of your uncle’s work as a smithy? It’s nice to see craftsmanship of such caliber still alive in this world.
I can’t tell you how, I don’t recall seeing him in the game.
@Samniss_Arandeen
Yeah here you go, ignore the shotgun though…

@Mister__Wiggles Why ignore the shotgun? Would make an interesting melee weapon! Hold it by the barrel and swing it like a bat! :3
How about when we’re outta shotgun ammo we use it like a bat instead of switching to a knife?
@Samniss_Arandeen
Yeah it looks cool, he has loads of stuff and for the sake of not spamming this thread I cant post it but he’s self taught which I think is pretty impressive.

Hey, a fellow autodidact. It’s been ages since I’ve encountered another one.
Your uncle has my regards.
FUCK YEAH! AND IT LIKE SQUEAKS WHEN YOU HIT SOMEONE! AND! INTEAD OF DYING, THEY JUST TRIP! HELLS TO THE FUCKING YEAH!
Only if he also gets a Maverick REV-6 and RapidStrike CS-18 to go with it.
Fuck rapiers. Give me a side sword! I want something that can deal damage, not something that can MAYBE draw blood.
Bonus point if the pan goes “CLONK !” every time you hit someone.

I like how at some point they synchronized.

Female warriors of Japan (back before the Tokugawa Shogunate screwed it all up) favored the bow, the spear, and the naginata as they more than compensated for their short reach.
Also, Kira seems more like the baseball bat full of rusty nails type.
Whenever I see the word Rapier, I immediately think of this thing:

A naginata, then.
…only if they also get a horse. Just charge through the battle field on a horse with a naginata through near-future, post-disaster London. (Probably get shot up by everyone.)

For what suits Kira’s character, a cat would be a better fit. A giant cat that she can ride into battle, and its kittens snuggling up in the warmth of the Ammo Station.

Pretty sure what you just describe is not a cat but in fact is Rhino.

Because Rhinos totally have kittens that snuggle up in the warmth of the Ammo Station and mew at the Mercs that come for more bullets.
