New information from GT-TV?

(Jess Alon) #41

I was excited to see more security cinematics.

(Schwarzeis) #42

Same here :stuck_out_tongue:

Seemed really nice, just chilling on the train n’ shiet

when the HE charge detonates everyone gets downed, including fluffy_gimp and the player, and they seemed to be pretty far from it

maybe there was a cutscene about to happen to they all sat down to watch it

You use a “Rotary” counter now and I love it! You still get the “impact” but without obscuring the view as was the problem with the “Blossom”. lol

I remember various discussions here about the HUD and, as I already stated in the badman GT thread, it looks fantastic. Ready to go!

(DouglasDanger) #45

GT keeps doing the bandwidth check thing and it is a blurry mess. Is this on youtube somewhere?

(triggerpappy) #46

(JeP) #47

It’s unavailable…

(Ajax's Spear) #48

Has anyone else noticed how subtle the red and blue outlines are in the new footage they’ve been showing? In a few cases it’s blatant, sure, but it generally looks like it’s not going to be very intrusive, or that there is a least going to be a toggle or some sort of slider for it.

(Herandar) #49

Don’t tell tokamak. He might try the game out and find out that he likes it!

It has been like this from the start. It depends of the distance.
I don’t even see why people whine about it. It is a necessary thing.

It’s a lose/lose situation. If there were no auras, people would be whining that it’s too difficult to tell friend from foe. If they have added just friendly auras, they’d whine it was ugly as well.

(in fact, when early footage was released without them… people WERE whining it was difficult. Though it was more constructive back then)

(Mustkunstn1k) #52

Basic game design comes first… before things like “But it doesn’t look beautiful”.
Screw ze haters.

(JeP) #53

As I’ve already said, old footage (not the first ones though) had rim lighting. A year ago, after 2:31 : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EfvfIXTFWJc

But people (and I too) seemed to notice it only with the crappy vids from people playing it at the last PAX.

(DarkangelUK) #54

Early footage quite obviously refers to footage that didn’t have it…

GOW3 beta is doing the same thing. I saw a preview in which teammates had a blue aura.

(DarkangelUK) #56

That must be an update from them as well, I’m sure when they showed it at Eurogamer last year in London they didn’t have that. Could be wrong of course, I didn’t spend too much time at that booth.

(JeP) #57

Sorry, my post wasn’t suppose to oppose yours, it was just to add that we even had footage with rim lighting for a while without people noticing it. Quite a good proof that it isn’t that big of a deal.

(DarkangelUK) #58

Right sorry, didn’t quite get your meaning there… but yes I agree, people didn’t oppose it until it was pointed out to them.

(Schwarzeis) #59

When enemies are at range, they will glow red, but… Well… Glow really red, which I hope they decrease to maybe a Gears 2 level where it is not that obvious that the glow is in

And if you click your tac-com your friends will glow red/blue depending on your faction through walls
