New gun CQBR_what you think?

(fearlessfox) #21

Heh, just remember that works in progress need constructive feedback mostly, and bigging up your vids to get views /will/ attract negative focus.

(iezza) #22

This is the video Version of a “loss leader” although the thread is serious, the vid is meant to get what you said. its a tactic.

As for your concept drowings, may i suggest pimpmygun?

Press the “play” link at the top to get it started.

You can pull up existing guns via File > New, and just add/alter; or just work from scratch. I would suggest at least looking closely at a few real guns before working on scratch.

Well, some functional suggestions i might give you then is to make sure that the barrel is in line with the ejection port, and that the magazine is directly below. Barrel shrouds should be centered on the barrel. You generally want to make sure that the stock is centered behind the barrel so that the recoil will be straight back. You want iron sights to be as far apart on the gun as possible. Optics are generally in front of the grip.

(iezza) #26

Thanks. i assume you know how to 3D moddel? if i send you the .blend file, can you give suggestions?

(Shadowcat) #27

I could try. I don’t know as much about blender as I probably should, I’m more used to working with CAD programs.

Attach it in a post or something. If it’s too big, delete lights. and any unnecessary textures, save to a copy, and upload!

Lol. : D

Have you tried using control loops for your high poly yet?

(Shadowcat) #29

You’re doing a pretty good job of recreating your picture, but the picture itself is flawed, so even if you managed to recreate it perfectly, it would be off.

Fixing the issues at this point would be difficult. If you could even do it, it would probably take more work than just starting over.

As far as actual flaws in your work, its hard to say without knowing the program better. I think your method of trying to do the whole thing at once may be a bad way to go about it. I would have probably started with one section and built off of it. The barrel or the body would be a good place to start.

Whats that?

Also working on the shotgun, hard work, 4k faces so far(i kno im not meant to say) and i think it looks darn good, i think the grip looks like leather and thats what it will be

(Shadowcat) #31

It might just be your viewing angle, but your stock looks to be a little low again. Gonna be hard to fit the Barrel and magazine feed above the Grip while still keeping the stock in line with the barrel.

(iezza) #32

Nope, this is it from side only WIth backround photo(im adjusting it_)

(Shadowcat) #33

Ah, it was just the viewing angle then, couldn’t see that the Stock was angled upwards.

(iezza) #34

Yash. Do u have spec ops pack? cos the guy in ur sig is wearing sloani.

(Shadowcat) #35

I have spec ops, but i actually photoshopped (GIMP’d?) that sig together before release.

(iezza) #36

Gimp’d . lol.

(iezza) #37

Close up of grip and the Screw area. (new)

(iezza) #38

no one?10chars

(Krallis) #39

Em, your shotgun looks completely broken.
Something is really weird about it, either the geometry or the lighting.

(why are you modelling it from an AR?)

Post wireframe please.

(iezza) #40

Hows it look broke? its modled off the Saiga 12k semi auto shotgun. Wireframe:
