Moving Object

(-SSF-Sage) #21
you never need any originbrush, just the brushwork!
because a script mover is able to trigger pain events etc… so it needs a shape.
but never an origin brush.
Yeah it “works” without it. But you need the origin brush (or origin key) to define how it moves.

What is this mover good for? what is its size?

(TheDragon) #23
just an idea.
maybe 3200 speed is too much.
so imagine the mover moves each moment player_length+1 units. so it just jumps over the player?
 I’m trying to recreate the launch thing from MLB-Daybreak, but it seems that speed is even higher.

I’ll see what happens when i divide my current speed by 2

(Zer0Cool) #24

haha, target_push is what you need :stuck_out_tongue:

(Magic) #25

All MLB map files are released
Why not open Daybreak and have a look.

(TheDragon) #26

oh  ok ^^

how to use target push then?

(-SSF-Sage) #27

Oh lol. I thought all the time that this was about making a simple script_mover work.

You can forexample have a func_button and target it to a target_push. Trigger_multiple should work too (to replace func_button), if you want them to touch something.

I dunno the launcher you’re talking about. Perhaps explain us how it works.

(TheDragon) #28

well i at first tought that a script_mover was needed for the launcher used in MLB-Daybreak (the iron one at the top of the building which launches you to another building in a net like thing

ye, i can’t explain.

so at 1st this topic was about making something simple move, and that worked perfectly. but now it seems i need a target_push so does anyone have a tutorial on that?

(isbowhten) #29

trigger_multiple(an area) or a button targeted at target_push = what you want.
the target_push has a direction, adjsutable with angle key(z-axis) or angles key (for all 3 axis) or target to any entity e.g. info_notnull , then the direcion it from push to notnull.

Prob solved.

PS: isbowhten, i couldn’t help noticing the resemblance between you and Charlie, from Numb3rs.
