You can’t avoid the damage, but crouching when you trip a mine is supposed to reduce the damage you take. I read that in one of the past patch release notes.

… proxy mines are annoying heh…feels like the explosive damage was increased a lot since I last played…

It might be the case your opponents were using that Proxy loadout in which the power and radius of the mines is increased.

yup that could have been the case, what are everyone’s tricks for not getting killed by mines so often then? I do try to listen out for them but often dont hear them until it is too late. I do try to look out for them but i’m mostly looking for enemies or other things. I like to play fast and rush and don’t want to stop and slowly look around every corner just in case there is a mine there.
