Min requirements. What kind of performance and graphics are to be expected?
You’re going to be wrong anyways when the game comes out. So you can stop your doomsday speeches in these threads.

You’re worse than master[mind].
I’m not going to pretend I know precisely how the black box works, but I know you’re wrong. The graphics API talks to the video card through the device driver. That goes through the mainboard’s bus. It’s not all screened through the CPU. You don’t absolutely need to have a Nehalem/Westmere/Sandy Bridge processor for gaming like you’ve been ranting about in every thread. That’s just what all computer forums are abuzz about right now. They like chanting i5 and i7 at everyone and don’t actually know anything.
Whether or not you consider me a babbling idiot(by now, I don’t care) that is what I’m saying. The GPU is considerably independent from the CPU. The CPU is far less in the performance equation for frame-rate than the GPU, unless you want to FRAPS 100% of the time.

(jRAD) #42

A slow/overloaded CPU can limit your frame rate - the GPU depends on the CPU for its data and for issuing the commands to draw things. This is true for most games, not just Brink, of course.

Thanx for stopping the bickering. To end it completely, are you able to tell us what FPS we’ll be getting with the min spec PC and at what settings? Thanks jRAD.

(master[mind]) #44

I was basing the argument on the min CPU spec, will that spec be overloaded just by playing an 8v8 game jRAD?

(Houd1n1) #45

Thanks guys.

Hmmm, the way I look at it, Etek is pissed cause his 1.7 celeron won’t run it, Mastermind talks a good talk, Auzner is condescending but probably correct, a min spec machine will be playable

(system) #47

I think this is as far as jrad can go using an official name. Minimum specs are minimum specs, don’t expect wonders though. The game will run, but how it runs depends on each individual’s definition of playable.
As far as I’m concerned, I think it’s too early for minimum specifications like that. That’s all I’m saying.
