some maps update ? cause if we only have some bugs correction it’s clearly not enough to make people play again …
Maps are horrible … Can’t play anymore on those maps …
This is true for me too. Regardless of how big the update is, if there are no major map improvements i’ll lose interest again within a week or so.

(BomBaKlaK) #62

Ok I got bad rep point given by Anti cause he don’t like my question … then do what you want, but it’s not a good way I think.

(Glottis-3D) #63

you still have reputation beyond repute, Bomba!

(MrFunkyFunk) #64

For all the critics he throws on the forums BomBa is at least still around and still plays the game, if that doesn’t show his dedication towards the game I don’t know what it is.
If he repeats the same stuff over & over again, like most of us, it’s because of the poor communication that has been plaguing this alpha/beta: we don’t know what’s being done or what’s coming.

In this case the communication was very clear, the patch is taking time whilst it is being tested for bugs, not that it is a patch that only fixes bugs.

Criticising things over and over when they aren’t even what is being said misleads other players. If there is a complaint about something please make it and we will read it. Post the same point multiple times with little to no actual feedback, in multiple threads, often when it has nothing to do with the actual topic, is just not helpful to anybody.

We try to read every bit of feedback on the forum and as you’ll see over the next few patches we actually want to act on most of it as well. Having to cut through the same point over and over to find actual feedback makes this way more difficult than it should be.

i dont know, why this came to mind:
“As your leader, I encourage you, from time to time and always in a respectful manner, to question my logic. If you’re unconvinced a particular plan of action I’ve decided is the wisest, tell me so! But allow me to convince you. And I promise you, right here and now, no subject will ever be taboo … except, of course, the subject that was just under discussion. The price you pay for bringing up either my Chinese or American heritage as a negative is – I collect your ****ing head. Just like this ****er here. Now, if any of you sons of bitches got anything else to say, now’s the ****ing time! I didn’t think so.”

Lol, now I feel bad :frowning:

It’s great that you folk are helping us through the development process, it is super useful, I just want to make sure it stays useful. The most helpful points of feedback are ones that have reasons and suggestions in them, they give us things to think about and opportunities to try new things that will improve the game.

“༼ つ ◕_◕ ༽つ GIFF PATCH SPLOSHDRAINAGE” posts, whilst they express the enthusiasm that you folk have to see the game progressing and improving, just make it harder for us to find that feedback and there is often little we can do to respond to them anyway.

Patches go into test before release, a test cycle takes about five days, if we find a major bug in that time it means another test cycle or features being held back to a later patch. It’s a slow process that we just have to go through right now, one that only speeds up as the game gets tighter and closer to release.

All I ask is that we try to keep threads on topic and focus on giving and discussing feedback

(Glottis-3D) #68

sry for making you feel bad!

is there a possibility to put a “important post” button on the forums, so that everyone could highlight posts in some way, that they think are realy important instead of qouting and requoting. so that i could go to “show Important posts”
this would help to sort things a little bit.

mb an “unimportant post” also.

(FireWorks) #69

Hey, thanks for the update!

EDIT:
I didnt mean to spam it even further as discussed in the few posts above.
It was meant as appreciation, which I thought could make your day a little bit nicer

So I repeat again my question ! cause nothing is clear on this side … Can we hope for maps update in this new build ?
a little yes or no is enough …
That was my question and we never had any answer … only bad rep point … And yes since over a year you just don’t care about our feedback so why do I need to waste time to give you some ? I paid to be here and support your game, and this is how you treat people when they support you ?
Do what you want … but I think you’re under pressure and you have a hard time manage this !

Do some Yoga

Until the patch is out of testing we can’t release patch notes or details of the exact content, as we don’t know what will make it. If the patch has a new map in it, and that maps fails testing in a bad way, the chances are it’d be removed from the patch, the patch released, and the map release moved to a later patch once it’s fixed. If we tell you now that a patch has X in it and then when it comes out it doesn’t you’ll be upset.

The same goes for any other feature. We have patch notes ready, they’re released when we know the patch will match them.

All I can say is the new next patch is pretty large, it should contain 3-4 large new things for you to try, assuming they make it through testing.

I can’t be clearer than that until we’re clear ourselves what has made it.

(BomBaKlaK) #72

Ok ! That’s all I need ! simple communication.

(stealth6) #73

Couldn’t you release the patch notes and then upon release say unfortunately XXX didn’t make it into this patch due to a game breaking bug?

(Anti) #74

We’ve done that in the past, it caused more issues than it fixed. We’ve found if notes come out too far ahead of the release some people tend to dismiss changes out of hand before they’ve even played them, which doesn’t help us and can skew feedback for weeks afterwards.

What tends to work best is when the notes come 24 hours or less before the patch, gives you guys some time to prep and take it in but then you very quickly afterwards get to test the actual changes, rather than role play the changelog

(Glottis-3D) #75

well. to be honest i dont mind being told that you were working on this issue and this map route, and then being told, that those things are not going to be in nearest patch due to bugs. we are all grown ups here. Gaming is a hobby to most of us here. if i fail at my other life-hobby (playing a guitar and bass guitar) i dont get upset, i just put more efforts.

Anti, you can share some things. for example those, that were already tested and are proved 2 b bugless. or things like are bugged, but are interesting to discuss neverthe less. some screenies of some routes (like in the OP) even if they wont be in nearest patch can realy help on the enthusiasm front.

-upd-
just read your post Anti, and i kind of agree on this minus of pre-sharing. But i think there are only ppl left here who realy care and will stick to the end.

(Anti) #76

It’s a nice idea but you never see bugs coming, that is why they exist. If feature A is tested and bug free, but feature B has a major bug, you’ll fix feature B’s bug. The problem is that fix could then break feature A, so it then needs a fix, or gets pulled or whatever.

So you never really know when it’s safe until you plump to release it because it passed the final sweep. Even then, as you guys have seen in this beta, some bugs still get through testing that can totally break a feature and make it very hard to play and assess.

(Glottis-3D) #77

yep, debugging is tough, no doubt

(montheponies) #78

tell me about it, i sat down to do a 1hr UAT this morning and just finished it now. No doubt will have to test again due to changes potentially breaking what we’ve already passed. ah the wonderful world of regression testing…

(INF3RN0) #79

TLDR;

forum a-holes ruined it for us all :D.
