I want a tactical nuke after a 30 kill killstream and I instantly win the match
Well I would have never expected or wanted any ultimates that were “OP” or gave buffs or any of that. Probably why I was thinking it would be more of a team oriented ability that didn’t even do any damage, but might be too annoying to have as a main ability that was always available. I mean ET and ETQW campaign unlocks were sort of the opposite of that tbh and no one even noticed; decreased spread, faster movement, item stats changing, regen, etc. That stuff would be fairly upsetting to most I’d think. Then rewarding a player with XP unlocks basically gives them even more momentum towards doing even better, which I thought most people disliked?? That’s basically a long term killstreak already.
Never played MOH 2010, but that list was just an attempt at some things I thought would make for interesting plays in the current system just off the top of me head. Was only trying to spark some discussion, which failed miserably. Still if it’s getting redone entirely I guess there’s not much of a point talking about it then, also considering it doesn’t appear anyone read the full OP except for the word “ultimate” anyway lmao- but that’s not surprising for this forum.
I think it’s great that you guys decided against ultimates as they look good on pAper it will destroy the game
Never been a fan of this sorta thing. However, if they do implement them then they cannot be completely game changing.
Honestly, the game is completely bland at the moment. There’s nothing that makes it unique from the other shooters. I’d be interested in something like ultimates even if it is game changing because it would make it interesting.
That’s the main reason why I was never completely against it. I still think something like an aoe revive grenade for example that could only be used one time every 8minutes would not be game breaking, nor would it be game changing per say. It would simply be moment changing, meaning a well coordinated chain of these limited abilities at the right time might allow for a plant or a disarm maybe. It could really make the game more interesting to play and watch overall, and make things feel less linear in engagements. All special abilities would really have to indirectly generate results rather than being a “hit F to kill everyone” type of scenario that is present in a game like CoD. It doesn’t have to be like that, and it shouldn’t ever be that.
Not sure what “reworking” will result in, but I’m expecting an extra ability for all mercs at least.
