Re: Stoker’s molotovs - assuming friendly fire is off, will a team know if the flames are from their own stoker or the opposition team? Area denial could apply to everyone if they’re not wanting to risk it and I guess Stoker’s not wearing some sort of flameproof suit.

Also, will the flames set off planted explosives (mines, sticky bombs)? I can see it being either really useful on the first objective in Underground or incredibly annoying…

@turnfalken they said that enemy flames will notiblicy darker than friendlys. I don’t know about setting of explosions, but I’d hope so. Would suck to walk into a friendly fire to be blown up by an enemy mine.

@turnfalken The flames have different colours apparently - I’m personally not sure myself, as I’m colourblind and couldn’t see any difference - but a lot of people have told me there’s quite a noticeable difference to them, so you should be OK!

As for friendly fire, it is OFF, meaning you will not be damaged by your own team Stoker’s flames; however Stoker himself can take damage from his own Molotov, as far as I know, the damage taken is the SAME as everyone else (so no, no flame-retardant suit)!

Flames damage deployables such as Healing Units and Turrets, so I would assume it is likely they can be used to set off explosives, such as Proxy Mines and Sticky Bombs. :slight_smile: Stoker will definitely be the optimal pick for Fire-Support on Underground! :stuck_out_tongue:

With Stoker comes a way to indirectly buff RedEye a little by letting smoke extinguish the molly. If SD missed the trick here I’m gonna be sad.

The attacking team spawned in the canal, it wasn’t really a focal point of the map so it’s not surprising that you missed it, hence why we changed the map name to Market :slight_smile:

Makes sense, BF Hardline was updated to change the colour of ‘friendly’ flames as no one was willing to walk in. Being damaged by your own flame is what I expected, it’s the same as hitting your own mine or throwing a sticky onto the wall next to you and blowing yourself up (I’m sure you can guess how I know about that). Couldn’t help wondering whether it’d been implemented for Stoker as he’s wearing a breathing mask in all the artwork.

Lazy Saturday morning thought - can we rename the first objective on Underground to The BBQ Pit?

Also, is it wrong that I’m tempted to spend the 50k credits I was saving for Stoker on Red Eye instead so that I can use his smoke to put out all the molotovs that’ll be thrown next week? Going on past merc introductions, Stoker will be in the next free rotation and by the end of that I should have enough credits for him anyway…
