Are these commands only for use with an etpub server? They don’t work for me.

yes its only for etpub or mods which used it as base.
basically you can run etpub localy, without having a server.
You can start the game with for directly loading a specific mod
et.exe +set fs_game etpub +devmap…
You need to be sure that the client (*:pk3) is in etpub folder and the server file also. qagame.mp.x86.dll
jaymod has it one folder ready for use,

I must have something wrong with my mods, I’ve played on servers fine, but when I try to start a server with the etpub mod it just crashes ET.
Ok, I’ve got the etpub client working. I can get the /configstrings command to work, but csinfo, csdump 0, csdump 1 are not recognized. Not sure how to get them to work. I’ve been going through my map removing as many static entities as I can that use the “setstate” function. I am replacing these with scriptmovers that use “changemodel” commands instead. This is really helping me reduce my entity count. But would it be helpful to go through the map and reduce the file names of these models to reduce the number of characters used?
On a quick look IMHO the total number of entities and trigger_objective_infos are more than safe. The configstrings shows a very large amount of path information* (~6250 chars). In my experience with configstrings that appears to be a lot more than I recall seeing (say ~1790 for a baserace version, or say ~4660 for breakout2 1.40 or ~4690 praetoria_one). The question I cannot answer right now is whether shortening the path strings would reduce the frequency of the error. Obviously the path info must be sent out not just during the warm-up state or game start state. It must also be sent on any connect/reconnects and remapshader events.
Unfortunately using shorter paths means a re-organization of files and at the very least a search and replace in the map, shader and script files. If you want to try this guess at a solution, IMO a dozen characters per path line average should answer it once and for all.
*assuming configstrings in etpub is the same as etmain
Do you think I made things worse by converting static brushwork entities into models? Obviously, I have a lot of different models now for my computer consoles and gun controls. But I thought that was better than having the same amount of static entities and using setstate to turn them off and on.
Now I usually have just one or 2 script movers per item and I use the change model command to alter the visuals.
By the way, what did you use to come up with that 6000 character total?
csinfo, csdump 0 & csdump 1 are server side.
I agree to TomTom777 and assume as well shortening the path might help. There are several limits around.
