A battle for Berlin cost the russians 400,000 soldiers… primarily because every window in every building had a few German conscripts with panzerfausts and mausers AND Russian Tanks + Narrow Urban Streets = terrible combination… capture the totality of that battle in making this map and see how this map turns out…

w0w the last set of pics look amazing however i think there should be a few more recesses in the allies…like in goldrush how you could pop in and out of the sides of buildings…or if you recall market garden…it just seems like the allyways are a bit too open and susceptiable to firepower.

As far as a name goes here are a few examples…but i think we ought know the objectives before we devise a name:

  • Operation: Nightfire
  • Operation “Weserübung”: German troops invade Denmark and Norway, in a quick as lightning action.
  • Operation “Gelb”: German troops invade the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
  • Operation “Cobra”: The Americans force break-through at Avranches.
  • Call to arms

All but operation nightfire and call to arms are actual WWII operations set in the European theatre. Good luck with the map…and if you haven’t decided on the objectives yet…may i suggest you create a dual objective map similar to tank…where both the allies and axis must defend and attack to win the match.

i love it so far I like it how you put a lot of detail on everything, every screen is eye candy :eek3: just one question though have you already decided on the objectives? if so what will they be, and keep up the amazing work!!

no i havent decided about objectives jet, first i was thinking about axis blowing up the bridge, but later on when i was working on the bunker i thought about allies destroying the radar on top of it, but now im think about destroying flak cannons :slight_smile: i ill see what i will do

as for the name, i really didn’t like many of the suggestions so far (with the exception of velorum’s suggestions because of their realism) – i mean, ashes? that would indicate that there would be uhmm… ashes in it, yea. lol.

my suggestion for the name of the map would be “ruined city” – or “fight in the ruins”, or maybe even “rumble in rubble” lmfao. anyway, you see the direction i’m going with this… if you’ve ever seen blackhawk down, or behind enemy lines, you know what ruins looks like, and that’s what they call it… ruins; not ashes ;/.

anyway, good work on the map so far… if it would be possible, it would be cool if there was like barriers of sorts to blow through, and once through your team could run in and destroy these 80mm flak cannons, or whatever you had in mind for the end… and have a team-door at the side of them (similar to the team door next to the main entrance at radar) so that the team would have stay on their toes and never neglect their objective… that’s why fuel dump is so popular i think, because it’s so easily won if the axis only worry about killing as much of the other team as possible, lol. have the axis spawn offset to the right of it or what-not, so a covert ops wouldn’t have to go through the axis base to do it…

very nice work though, i like it a lot so far. sorry for being so opinionated, it’s your map, do with it what you want of course, i just giving you my feelings on it :stuck_out_tongue:
