I actually like the way that looks. It takes a bit more tasteful refinement but if that’s the lower standard then I’ll be happy.

It’s better than having everything dark and murky (like Camden is now) by just missing out on a few important lighting effects switched on.

Someone pls post their cfg file. It may help others play the game more in its current state which is only a good thing for the alpha. Plus we can help give feedback on what should and should not be changeable.

Anyways, I wondered about LodBias 3 with all those texturegroup comman lines.
What does your muzzleflash look like? cause for me this causes quite an ugly view and I am not really able to track the enemy cause the muzzleflash is ****ed up.

If this is ok for you it might be the maxlodsize I have messed up a bit too much.

Fire and muzzleflashes are horrible indeed. But it works for me, at least until the game gets optimised enough.

EDIT: setting LODBias higher than 1 for texturegroup_effects causes the ugly effect for muzzleflash for me.
EDIT2: I wouldn’t recommend setting LODBias for texturegroup_world higher than 1 either. This causes an ugly effect when hitting the wall, which results in reduced visibility in fights.

i dont think there are any ‘magic’ settings that boost you performance like hell.

Just search for a tweak guide for an UE3-engine based game. I might post my cfg tomorrow when I am back home, but for a really huge fps boost you will have to wait for the next patch(es).

performance optimization is currently being looked after.

Yeah, as of now, with the state the game is in, there’s no ultimate CFG. Until the engine and game get the optimization it needs every system will react differently to every config out there.

these are my current settings. I didn’t reduce lightmaps/lighting settings as it makes the game unbelievaly ugly.

turning lightning settings off should increase your fps even more! But yes it decreases the visablitly over distance.

Had most things disabled but thanks to scre4am & Winnie I managed to gain a few more fps by tweaking some values and while it’s not 200 it’s certainly made the game a bit more playable (and enjoyable).

MaxLightmapRadius should not be reduced (much). apart from this you can play with lighting/lightmaps settingsa little.
