I must admit that when I work at home I get more work done than when I’m working in the office. There’s always people talking, asking questions, … making noise. I do like to sit at my desk with my cornflakes, and just start programming. I sometimes do launch a quick game when I’m fed up with the code or when I’m just feeling like playing a game, but when I look at my achievements I must admit that it goes better at home. The peace and quiet helps to concentrate.
Longest time taken for a map you've made.
@Gerbil, lol and are you residing in south america now? I thought you lived in london, england?
@UniKorn, those are the same reasons I dont like working in open plan offices, its one thing to put my pets back in their cage at home, but asking work mates to leave me alone because I need to concentrate on something tricky is something I don`t like doing.
plus if I`m sharing my work with others, I like to check it first, which is easier to do working on my own at home, but in an office people can ask for work that we know has mistakes in it.
I`m not suggesting everyone should work at home given the choice, as obviously there are different kinds of distractions points to Gerbils post
Yeah I’m living in Colombia these days to be with my girlfriend.
Ultimately I’ll be returning permenantly to the UK, with my girlfriend assuming things are still going well when she finishes University middle of next year.
In a way I’m just bloody lucky I can get a form of broadband here so I can keep working remotely, and play the odd bit of ET - funny how I have managed to get used to playing with a ping of around 130 or so, when I got broadband in the UK I used to bitch if I had a ping of greater than 70
