no, he said that wants to disable the ability to skip the intro when u start the game… and he is using ‘force’ word to force player to watch it. bad behaviour.

Why are people jumping on the kid? He had a question, he came to the right place, he got his answer. You don’t have to flame him, you’re all starting to look like aaa4.

Personally myself, I always skip the intro, or do /connect %IP% before it even loads. I don’t know why he would want to force people to watch it, but what difference does it make.

Anyways, you can’t force people to watch it, since you’re not connected to a server at that time, you’d have to actually edit a system file.

The point of our “flaming” is to tell him we don’t think it is a good idea to do. If such a feature existed, I think many players would leave the mod alone. Pointing such things out is actually helping. Only the way we tell is “flaming”, because we think so heavily. Ofc if he decides to go for it anyway, then it is our duty to help.

If it had to be watched only for the first time after installation, then it’s fine. But everytime, no way. But forcing to watch it just because “I made it and it’s cool so everyone must watch it” is not going to bring any success what so ever. Back to my cave.

I once though of making videos for map previews on server browser,but didn’t knew how to make it work correctly with the menu files and with Q3 video maker it’s quite limited,and if I remember correctly I couldn’t get working sound on it:(

He wants to creat a movie so that noobs like me have to sit there and watch how great he is, and instead of playing the game, have to waste time looking for ways to uninstall all the downloaded effects some people have decided to force on me. dont get me wrong some of the effects are great and you modders have helped to bring a great gaming experance to ET, and you should be reconised for your work, but some modders have gone overboard my curser wont work, the menu is so big it drops below screen. there is a point where trying to play the game ceases to be fun, having to delete the files causing me problems is killing the game for me.
