Came to the site looking for update information, and ended up registering just to post in this thread. I know that, in most cases, developers don’t bother reading their player forums, but it’s still worth a shot to try.
I am one of three web admins for a large competitive gaming community with over 40k registered members. Of those members, I would estimate that about 5k are active within our community, 1k are active within tournament & MLG circuits, and about 200 of them are online on either PSN, XBL, or PC every single night. These are people who spend more time and money on video games than any other forms of entertainment combined.
I have been a proponent of Brink since I first heard of the game’s pending release sometime last year, and in our community, my voice has a considerable amount of sway. I pre-ordered the game and had convinced a number of friends to purchase the game as well. Imagine our shock to find that player-created pregame lobbies, a feature so common to online games even 10 years old now, were completely absent. How could this possibly have not been included in development?
I’ve written very positive reviews for both ours and other gaming sites that are generally favorable, and I always hear back the same three complaints, which, at the current juncture in time, I must concede are valid reasons to NOT purchase this game. These three are the lag issues, the small number of maps, and the inability to coordinate teams before the match starts. I understand from the FB page that work is already being done to correct the lag issues and that a DLC is coming with more content, but I have seen no mention of team lobbies, even in private games.
I enjoy this game immensely, and playing casually is typically loads of fun, but when it comes to viability for organized, competitive gaming, BRINK falls flat on it’s face. In the interest of promoting this game to more serious gamers, bolstering sales and press, and fostering enjoyability for your customers, it’s an absolute shame to leave out such a basic feature. A player pre-game lobby absolutely must be added before more serious players can even consider putting it into tournament circuits alongside BF, COD and Halo.
The addition of player-lobbies will determine whether or not this game’s lifespan is measured in months or years. I cannot make this point any more clear. Don’t let your customers down.
P.S. - For those who may be interested, we are DM8X and we welcome both serious and casual players on a number of titles and platforms.
P.P.S. -> What is this
I don’t even…
Yeah, I can’t remember if I signed “this one” and I’m not looking through 5 pages of posts… so here you go.

Zyphox signed, lobbies would be very much appreciated :stroggtapir:
:stroggbanana: lol
Yes please! Im tired of versing bots! Or not enough humans in a match. signed
Glad to see that everyone would indeed like a lobby system, now SD, DO IT. Thank you.
I’d like it as well. It’s hard to believe, but gamers have friends as well. We need a feature to organize friends for public matches.
I made an account for this forum so I could sign this thread!

Whoever says this game is fine without lobbies must be smoking some strong dope! I enjoy playing co-op for this game, and sometimes my friends aren’t online when I am. The current system makes it a total roll of the dice as to whether you’ll find a game with a couple of randoms in it, or if you’ll start a game anew with you as the host. Maybe if the AI wasn’t so bad I could cope with a handful of bots on my team, but right now they’re causing me nothing but a headache, especially on higher difficulties!
Althought I think it is too late to add such a feature and that the damage has already been done to the console gamers I will sign as well. The good news is that I might be able to convince some of my friends to pick up the game now that it is selling for just over $30 used. Wasn’t it just released 2 weeks ago?
