IMO, that’s the best solution: just release a new version of Wolfenstein SP. We’ve got the source for Windows and Mac OS X.[/QUOTE]
That shouldn’t be at all difficult for someone with even a modicum of programming knowledge.

Easy, yes. I just haven’t gotten to it yet. There’s an OS X distro on either Github or SF that should do well.
I’ve seen many attempts to make a new Rtcw sp, but all have either failed or are still being worked on. And as we know, new Wolfenstein games just aren’t enjoyable or interesting compared to Rtcw (Wolf 2009, New Order).
I’m not trying to be negative here, but it’s more or less the truth.

I agree. I`d rather spend the effort to creating many decent smaller maps than creating a new mod, and more importantly get people download it.
MAN-AT-ARMS is porting all the ioquake3 features and bugfixes to rtcw-sp (and rtcw-mp)
He has also a new renderer which should give better visuals. He hasnt released any binaries yet, but if you know how to compile, you can use it already
So if you want new limits of the engine (like 2048 shaders) you can talk to him on irc, #iortcw on freenode.net
Would it be possible to merge ET and RTCW? And well possible, would it make sense?
Such idea, wow xD
Well, a kind of hybrid, running on an advanced iD Tech III Engine, a SP part, a MP part, with classic and new modes (RtCW or ET), some features from Legacy… God, would the effort be worth it? What if that get real and get released on platforms such as Steam on all platforms?
Too much dreaming, but that would be a W:ET 2.
Et was supposed to have a single player component originally, but that never happened in the end. The AI were the reason why we never got a single player mode for Et.
