It’s the mentality of bolt-rifles. Missing a shot (which will likely happen) doesn’t usually lead to the sniper switching position to get a better shot, hence slowing her down. Hitting a shot leads the player to believe the sniping spot is great and players will refuse to move. This is the reason why Red Eye has no bolt-actions.
The semi-autos on the other hand allow her to spam shots and is very forgiving. Red Eye is already the mobile sniper with his Skyhammer stats, even with the PDP. It works for him, it will work for her.
Just wanted to say to OP that Stoker didn’t appear in scrubs trailer, yet he was out first, then it was thunder. I think they’re only going by who they’re able to fix first (and from the sound of it, Turtle is a hard nut to crack)
@SaulWolfden pretty sure they’re bothered by me saying aimee with snipers would add nothing, at least going by what we know of her so far. Though they never said anything as to why they think she would bring anything new.
I think mercs should be primarily defined by they ability with the guns fitting with what role they’re filling with said ability. Basing mercs solely around guns would give us only a handful of options before we just end up with clones. I say a smgs and shotguns for a recon, because right now we dont really have a really fast close range recon. Phantom is based more around stealth than speed or is supposed to any way, have no clue what they’re trying to do with him so far.

Problem is if aimee does get snipers, it’ll only be semi-auto since thats what they’ve mentioned with her before. They also took all of the bolt action snipers from the other recons probably because it moves into what vassili does too much and vassili is currently defined mostly by his BASRs so I doubt they would give them to her either.
If redeye with smoke and IR cant counter vassili then I doubt aimee will fare any better versus him especially with semi-auto rifles against bolt action but without cover from smoke.
Plus even if they did give aimee BASRs it wouldnt solve the actual issue. It would still be bolt action sniper to counter bolt action sniper, one just having a different appearance this time around. The exact same situation could be accomplished with a skin for vassili giving him tits, it wouldnt change anything gameplay wise, which is why I say aimee with snipers would be same sniper crap but different merc.
Althought I do want Aimee to come next, I still believe Turtle will be out first because he seems rather finished and we’ve yet to see Aimee’s new abilities
Scrubs trailer was introduced before those five mercs that were named in it got released… As I remember those were Fletcher, Sparks, Rhino, Kira and Phantom…
They said mercs from Scrubs trailer will be released firstly, and there they were…
Those enemy team mercs in scrubs trailer don’t count, so yeah, it is possibility we can see both of Aimee or Turtle as next merc, altough I think turtle will be the one…
Please tell me this is a joke. PDP is brokenly easy to use right now due to it still being balanced against the FEL/MOA as if the bolt actions could instagib.
I have an idea for Aimee. Her ability could be that the farther away she is from the objective, the larger the radius on her sensor. This way when she’s camping and basically hurting the team, she’s actually hurting the team SLIGHTLY less.
@LifeupOmega Try to use the PDP vs MOA or Felix? The gun is so bad when you’re up against bolt actions, why would anyone even wanna use it over bolt actions? It takes 3 body shots and when you’re using a PDP, you’re somewhat - inclined to stay in position to make those continous shots happen.
That’s the sole reason why you rarely see semi-auto snipers being used by competitive players.

3 bodyshots with a semi-auto and a high firerate compared to 2 bodyshots with a bolt-action. Sorry, semi-auto wins here.
Whatever the case, turtle’s probably going to be released first. We already know what his shield does and it’s in the game files, while we know NOTHING about Aimee other than her having the PDP for her boring signature weapon
