But they did say something about being able to switch factions and keeping all of the perks you’ve earned for the side you’ve been playing. Saying something like “we’re not going to limit you to using the perks you’ve earned only 50% of the time” or something to that effect.

"We’re planning for Brink to ship with 24 different weapons, spread across four different categories. We’re making sure that each of these has a really unique feel and use in combat, so it’s not just going to be a bunch of gun clones with slight stat differences.
“We’ll have five sidearms, six light weapons, six assault-sized weapons and five heavy weapons in Brink.”
I’m assuming they haven’t decided on the other two? That or they are completely unique to a specific class.
I think there are 2 specialised explosives they haven’t commented on, although one screen shows a molotov cocktail being thrown by a resistance
You have to wonder what the difference between that and the clockwork(-like) grenade are going to be if that’s true. Also you have to wonder how powerful each explosive is going to be. They were talking about preping and stuff, but hopefully the grenades don’t explode on contact with the ground like they did and the noob tubes don’t have a lot of ammo (you can’t tell because of the infinite ammo glitch they were apparently using). Also you have to wonder if they had an invincibility/god mode cheat on and on top of that there is the fact that a fast moving player was using a noob tube, which is classified as a heavy weapon. I want to see some balanced gameplay between pro players ASAP. Also I’d love a sniper rifle, because even though I’m first percentile, quick scoping is fun and I’m one of the best at no-scopes. Notice how I just changed the entire direction of the forum.
I think the molotov is separate from the grenade, like trip mine or sticky mine for Security. Notice how I changed it back.

certainly good review.
and better explanation “all-in-one”.
and about “AI Commander” - how sophisticate it become[at that state of development]?
will it make non-standart[even for some human players]decisions/strategy/tactics or just focus on basic coordination.
can “AI commander”-entity exchange info with own kinds on different server or even use this info ingame ?
(im not mean in turning Brink to transcontinental, Planetside-alike warfare, but basic services)
Can’t wait till I get my hands on this game. And since Civilization V is coming this fall too, Fall 2010 looks very bright indeed
I am prety sure they have said no snipers in this game. Its all about the fast paced close quaters fighting and sniping just slows every thing down a little to much, besides it gets annoying at times. Although in your post you mentioned no scoping, not every one is going to use a sniper like a shot gun.
Im gald snipers were removed, BF:BC2 has shown just how bad and over used sniping has become because of CoD.
Raven Shield dealt with snipers in a perfect way. Most of the maps were close quarters, and the only way you could justify taking a sniper was with a specific goal in mind. You couldn’t assault with them, you couldn’t adjust, you had to plan. The sniper is only successful if you anticipated the team correctly, had one alley covered and maybe even had a heat sensor added.
It’s hard to describe how amazing those moments are when you manage to pull it off and take out half the opposing team just by sheer wit. It’s totally different to most other “tactical” shooters, they’ve completely spoiled that gun.
seems it was a print only shot and has been taken down, but I saw it
Guess they’ll be released online as well sooner or later. I can wait.

sure, RS6 RS os well implement this.
importance of planning, co-ordinations, tactical awareness and etc and etc…
a picture of the Molotov is still there, obviously not the same one, but you can see a bit of it. I have it as my background. Here’s a link. http://www.siguientefase.com/fondos/imagenes/brink.jpg
If the link is broken its in the images on google for exactly 1680x1050 under search: brink.
Gotta love the game, and I wish they had snipers without scopes, even if they were really inaccurate, it would indeed be epic. I knew they said they didn’t want to add them E3 '09, but decisions weren’t final then. I like snipers that are slow firing, and I like combat where half the battle is keeping the cursor/crosshair and/or recoil on the target, as is rarely the case with snipers, who usually do so for just for a few miliseconds. Any excessively annoying sniping can be countered with the F.E.A.R. 2 approach, where a red lazer line is visible across the map when scoped, making targets obvious and camp sniping near impossible. Regardless, snipers shouldn’t be invisible in ghillie suits, they should be helping to flank just as often as they hold choke points.
My only real complaint now might be that I hope the gun-swap is slow for everything but pistol, because my primary skill in any game is dodging bullets, right next to flanking. I don’t like it when my opponents get a second chance.
MW2 failed the two gun system, among the 99% of the game they got wrong.
sorry, I remembered where I saw it, wasn’t a screenshot

Nice. I guess they weren’t supposed to become one big poster after all, the cropped style is just hip and cool
That molotov one is just pure art.
The revolver in the pic next to the Molotov one is SICK. I’m thinking my Resistance Operative will look a lot like one of those hoodie-wearing guys.
Idk, guys, I always liked the guy with the pierced face, he’s been in other content I’m pretty sure. I like his expression more than the piercings though. My guy might look like a clone of him, but then again I don’t think I can predict that far. Of course it goes without saying his face couldn’t go on a heavy body type, and probably not on a normal one well.

OMG, i can’t believe no one caught that (and that I made the math mistake in the first place). 24 guns it is, but there’s 7 light and 7 assault sized, not 6 each. sorry about that
also, on the topic of molotovs, that poster was done a long time ago for our first cover article. at the time, we were definitely planning on having them in the game, had even done models and whatnot. but we generally prefer to only leave something in the game if we can “do it right”, and doing proper fire spreading is a TON of work that would have negatively impacted a lot of other systems (remember, we’re still a very small team of devs by modern game standards… just 50ish guys working on the game, compared to other teams that are 100+), so molotovs unfortunately got cut awhile ago.
but that just means that the stuff that remains is even better and more polished!
