To be honest, while it certainly is an attempt of encouraging to balance out teams, getting rid of such penalty, it doesn’t seem widely known or might not feel appealing enough to switch, since we’re still having the easily unbalancing situations. That or the absolute majority of the playerbase is afraid / too lazy / greedy for victory to even out an uneven team. Call me naive but I don’t digest that most of the players would be so close-minded.
For the first group, unknowing, announcement should do the trick if they fall in the fairplay category of players. For the second group, greedy ones, a straight up reward instead of silently removing penalty once teams are numberly even, could make them switch.
Thanks for the clarify by the way! Now that I can ask directly from you @Amerika , any info how this penalty is calculated playernumber-wise? Is 4v6 situation on a 8v8 server resulting in same penalty as would 5v5 on same server? Because in both cases server overall is missing 6 players from full. Or does 4v6 add on harsher penalty because of both overall miss of players and unfair numbers? Is 2 man-down situation on a team compared to other enough for the penalty to kick in to begin with?
