Dude, do you think you’re the 1st person to ever buy a game and not have it live up to your expectations? If that’s something you fear is going to happen, then you should stop buying games. In fact you should stop going to the cinema as well just in case… and maybe stop buying albums as well.

I don’t remember with who I had a discussion here about the “masses” of customer not being always right in their choice, but if this “UltimateKilla” is a representative of mass consumer base (and it looks like), then I’m fecking glad Brink is not going to be mainstream!
Speaking of witch, Duke Nukem looks stupid but even with all of that I bet the gameplay mechanics will be smoother than here. Still wont make it good, I mean Multiplayer in prolly gonna be DM and CTF in Duke Nukem, but still from what ives een the game engine used looks modern plus Gearboxe is making it

Look i dont wanna rip into you or call you out (although i so badly do) but its clearly obvious from post like this that you really have very little knowledge of video games and are mostly full of personal opinion and nothign more.
And for the record BFBC2 is everything I wish MW2 could have been (although MW2 could have done it on a much smaller scale maps), the only thing they have in common are time period, some weapons (because of the latter), and America vs. Russia which has been common place in pop culture since the late 1940’s. I want to rip into how you probably play BFBC2 because your probably the type that imo ruins the game for many but i am not gonna go there this time, for once i will just keep it to myself.
I totally agree, i was scared for a sec upon the game release cause i feared it would be too easy for people to getthe hang of and many “mainstream” players would jump on the ship and then smatter he forums daily with hate and drivel attempting to get SD to change the game like they have with Killzone and I pray not Battlefield also not to mention every other fps shooter recently.
But thus far i find a much stronger community of Fans then those who want to change the game as they all mostly have just Personal preferances rather then teaming up for a single cause. I want this game to stay NICHE but at the same time have this NICHE grow and grow until it becomes what is the popular type of game.

Don’t see the relevance to Brink though. I can see that it’s a game without mass-market appeal, but I’m fortunate enough to have done my research WELL, and to have KNOWN what I was getting when i bought it.
And I also knew it was a game I’d love. So far, it’s shown a measure of AI problems, which have been fixed, and a major (but predictable if you’d been following the game) problem caused by the lack of lobbies for setting up multiplayer…
But it’s still brilliant, and fun, if you appreciate it for what it is.
It’s more like what the Emperor’s New Clothes story would be like if he was given boring, but perfectly-tailored, and incredibly durable clothing, most people who looked at it would think “that looks boring, not fancy” but refuse to criticise because it’s the Emperor - but a few woudl stand up and say “you know what, I think those clothes look pretty *#&$ing stupid” - but there would be a few people who’d look at it and say, “Wow. Our ruler wears practical, sensible clothing! That’s AWESOME!”
That seems a more appropriate comparison to me.
Yes, there probably are a few people in here who don’t really like the game, but can’t admit it. There are just as many who are out here saying “it’s crap because it’s not what I wanted” and refusing to accept the possibility that other people might enjoy the game.
I love Brink, it plays like a dream, no problems to find a server full of people that also like it and play as a team. Best spend 50 euro’s this year so far!
I hated all the CoD’s after number 4 for various reasons (but bought them all).
So there must be different kind of people in the world that are not like you…must be a huge eye opener.
Now go back to the games you like. This game doesn’t fit your requirements at all.
