It’s possible that:
A. The two “weapons” have identically balanced and functional cousins that one has to earn
B. Or they are re-skins as well.
C. Or they might not be very powerful, just functional.
They are, after all, sidearms and not main weapons. I’m pretty sure there are equivalents if not identical versions in game. It won’t break the game.
I can haz preorder gunz too?
Where have they said that? Splash damage have always supported the mod community since they started out as mod team.
See that excuse is being used with every incremental step that compromises the gameplay. But they accumulate and it also shows a sell-out attitude that I just no longer wish to support.
It’s that this game still has many aspects of game theory that are interesting to discuss or I would be long gone.
Mmmmm is it a freaking old post? I assumed this was discussed plenty of times already, and that the exclusives guns were just skins?
Who care anyway, a noob with a shiny gun is still a noob…
We should be able to steal their gun tho
It would be the ultimate QQ Maker ^^
Peace
The guns will more likely fill a niche so tiny and minute, that it’s barely worth the effort of making this post… and certainly not worth the whine it’s getting.
There won’t be mod support at launch. I’m pretty sure they have made that decision.
They’re not skins.
Yes, you can buy the game at full price but you don’t deserve the full game if you want to read the review before buying it blindly!
I personally expect the two preorder weapons to be either reskins or weaker overall than the other weapons.
I really don’t have a problem with it, but then again, in the past i have played several free FPS’s. Those have a bad habit of handing out OP weapons with clearly no attempt to balance, as long as you throw money at the dev’s.
Its also possible to give out a DLC later with Re-skins of these two weapons, while still preserving the exclusiveness to those who pre-order.
Either way, the devs have been intentionally quiet about the topic, which means we are going to have to wait for the game to come out before you can start complaining. (Or at least sound intelligent about your complaints) Until then its just speculating. I for one would rather not assume that SD is going to screw up before I’ve even played it.
The pre-orders were announced Aug 17, a full 9 months before the release date. Assuming they tested the guns a bit before the announcement, and that’s about a full year of testing before the game comes out. I should hope they are able to figure out if the weapons will be game breaking in that amount of time (and fix them).
wait for the game to come out before you can start complaining.
If people can praise the game before it’s released…
The difference being that the Devs give you lots of details on the things that are praiseworthy, but intentionally avoid talking about anything people might complain about.
This gives us a very good idea about the cool features in the game, but a large void in our understanding of anything worth criticizing.
Sure, you could talk about “I really hope its…” or “I really hope its not…” but we have already done that for most possible outcomes. Now people are just debating over speculation. Many assume that SD are unbalancing the game by adding two exclusive weapons to the game, and refuse to believe anything to the contrary despite the huge lack of any details.
Which in turn means that points of concern deserve more attention than cheering about whatever SD prompts us to cheer about. To tell us to save our complaints until after we’ve handed over the cash is a terrible attitude.

Sure, but keep in mind, they are sidearms, not primaries. I’m pretty sure there are equivalents to unlock.
It’s still an increment towards compromised gameplay for the sake of added sales security.
They are skins. There was a time when they were different weapons but now they’re reskins.
Sauce?
Cause for two weapons it says “skins” but for the other two it doesn’t. So when did they say that ? :C
Once you get into the game and progress a little you will most likely be using different cloths, tats, and guns anyways. There’s no reason to pay for two games just to get a few extra items when your gonna unlock tons of them in-game.
I said “until the game comes out” not “until you buy it”.
If people are really concerned with such things, then show your complains after you have details. Preorder it, if it compromises the game, then return it.
