How will the mix between singleplayer and multiplayer work?

So it’s the consumers fault for not searching through wades of bull****, speculations and rumors to find new info? That’s funny.

I do it everyday - and not just with games.

So consumers/people should just take everything the industry/media throws at them as 100% facts, and be completely naive and uneducated? That’s funny.

No, it’s funny that you think it’s ok to lump over the companies responsibilities to the consumer when it’s not needed. Searching for proper information is ofc vital for any consumer, but if you are going to sell something to a consumer it’s your responsibility to inform him of the product with correct information available for him to find. This is often not the case when it comes to games until the product is released (since the product isn’t finished, they want to keep it a secret or for other reasons) that usually do not stop them from releasing vague or sometimes invalid information before it’s release though.

Better to keep quiet than hyping up vague information IMO.

No, their responsibility is to sell the product - being completely honest or not “stretching” the truth, kinda gets in the way of that. This is why my salesmanship sucks - because I don’t like BS’ing people. You are trying to mix morals and ethics with capital, and to max profits, it just doesn’t work.

Well if you do BS your customers, they will vote with their wallet on the next product from the company, so from that point of view it’s still the right thing to do IMO. But I agree, that’s often not the case.

yea, you can hardly expect people to buy your game if you say “the shooting is like in mw2, the guns are only slightly altered, the mix of mp and sp is like those old arcade games, and all the rest is also not new, only salvaged and made to seem new, apart from our smart system and customization, although our smart system could be linked to that other game with parkour, and our customization could be linked to APB”.
i know i would be thinking what’s the point in buying this then? because apart from knowing that a lot has been in different games, i have no clue what it’s actually like then.

and people are too naive already, blaming them for that is ok i guess, i mean, it IS their own fault if they believe everything that’s been said to them…

Sure… just nobody bothers putting stories in their multiplayer games. I would say l4d versus except the teams are switched up so it’s blatantly about competition, not the survival narrative.

I think most companies have wonderful ideas/concepts/additions to their games. Whether or not they get they get done well is another thing entirely.
