How to Fletcher?

(Szakalot) #21

im saying: NO

use the ‘pull out sticky’ key, and throw with mouse button. I’m a zealous supporter of this approach, and any fletcher i know got A LOT better

(Para) #22

Here’s a quick clip of some of my fletcher play, excuse the TS chatter. I die a few times trying to play the objective, but somebodies gotta do it.

Quick throw works just fine for me.

(Jacklyn) #23

I use quick throw and have no problems with the aim. Just aim / predict and then press Q. Level 32

(tinyHouse) #24

Anyone know if the perk which makes health regen start off early works? Does the perk that make bombs go off early even worth it?

(Para) #25

The health regen perk is actually really good, totally works as far as I know. The other perk doesn’t function at all right now, hopefully will be fixed soon.

very nicely done, and you def. got the skills. Presumably you rebound quick throw to sth else than ‘q’ though, right?

Still, would love to see how that works out for you when throwing mid-trick jumps, or against fast moving targets.

Not saying you can’t be good with quickthrow, but I still think you can be BETTER with pre-selected sticky and keeping aim on the same button as default weapon fire.

These are my bindings:
Middle mouse to throw, mouse 5 to detonate, scroll up for primary weapon, scroll down for knife.

My left hand is only for movement and the “use” key.

some stuff is up for preference; personally I was never a big fun of stuffing options on my mouse, keeping it aim only. I’ve even set ADS to toggle, which i personally dislike, just because holding RMB while aiming changes it every so slightly (then again, sensitivity is different atm. so its changed anyways).

Either way, I will not concede that ‘pre-select, aim with ‘fire’’ is worse than ‘aim with quickthrow’. I find keeping aim to one button (LMB for ‘fire’ on all weapons), gives much more consistent results; at this point, of playing 90% fletcher, I’m surprised if my throws don’t hit the target, even if they are actively dodging

Yeah it’s all personal preference. I don’t think any one sticky throwing method is better than the other, it’s just what you’re more comfortable with.

I love having a lot of options on my mouse because I hate hindering my movement to preform an action, I want to be able to strafe left or right 100% of the time if I need to.

I also use ADS on a toggle, but that’s from years instinct from playing COD.

What loadouts do you recommend with fletcher?

(Szakalot) #32

Id say :

  • ahnuld/empire with lockon/doubletime/tough
  • blishlok/empire with quickdraw (n some other shizzle)

Yup, the A31 and the BL33

The A23 isn’t bad either, basically it’s the A31 with unshakeable instead of quickdraw. It also has the Tolen instead of the Empire. Unshakeable is a pretty underrated augment I think.

Fletcher’s my favorite. Some tips:

always run is pretty good. You never really have a reason not to. Not needed but it lets you off the run key

use hit-markers. it’s easier to see if you damage people with your stickies around corners

many people recommend that you switch to stickies with the 4 key instead of using Q and E. Personally, I’ve rebound my q and e to be on my mouse. This means I use my Mouse5 (thumb button) to throw, and my middle mouse button (Mouse3) to detonate. This lets me quickly aim and detonate without ever letting go of the strafe keys. I’ve seen alot of new Fletchers standing still when they throw stickies because using Q for aiming is awkward since you have to hold it down.

you are a really good flank class. run and surprise people with your bombs and pick the survivors with Ahnuld. Practice with the shotgun. Headshots with that weapon has great range and damage and it’s very underrated. You can also use the Blishlok but it’s less accurate and harder to use, but the damage it does is great.

don’t wait for your stickies to recharge and don’t camp with bombs unless you know they’re coming. as a fletcher, you deal alot of damage and can easily make people back away. be on the frontlines and just throw them and detonate as soon as they recharge. camping is still perfectly viable, but if you don’t deal damage or help out against the push, you are useless.
