How Does Stoker's Molotov Feel to you?

I also don’t know if the next bit is just me, but I feel that the Molotov is not perceived as a force to be weary of anymore. As OP mentioned, people tend to just walk through the flames.

My opinion on the changes:

I feel that SD should show more love to Stoker. Stoker’s molotov is definitely not working as intended and this needs to be fixed ASAP. I feel that, despite SD’s efforts to make Stoker more balanced, they have nerfed him slightly too much. And due to the bug that ruined the molotov for a while, Stoker felt a bit lacking in terms of strength. Don’t get me wrong, I love Stoker, but I do not like what SD has done with him. Maybe increase the size of the area of effect and bump the damage a tad bit? Also, fixing the bug would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not wanting it to be high intitial damage at all. I just feel that the area damage part of it is rather lacking, ESPECIALLY since enemies can also distinguish the short lasting flames with explosives and smoke from Redeye.

Don’t forget that it’s extinguishable now @Xyfurion Also, imo it felt “just right” during the Rogue En Vogue Event. Then again I played a LOT of Stoker then, might just be steamy memories… :naughty:

@els - That was exactly what my second option was recommending.
@Szakalot - Cool… I mean hot D: Not a bad option, though it doesn’t exactly stop the distinguishing issue or the fact that people just walk through it. It may be all it needs though.

That’s something I’ve also faced quite a bit. Getting shot twice by a player with a burst rifle and the player running has actually caused the molotov to be completely wasted, and sometimes un-thrown. (RIP double + dings)

Anywho, thanks all who’ve posted their opinions. It’s been nice to see them. I made this post because I was honestly feeling like I hadn’t seen too much on the forums about it’s slight weak sauce lately. :no_mouth:

Approximately 6-7 people are against the Molotov being changed. And another 4-5 have commented in approval of it being changed without adding their votes. Putting it in Original Post now. Will update again tomorrow. <3

Wasn’t it extinguishable since the day he was released? I thought the devs only made it more efficient recently.

I agree, Stoker was in a good place during the ReV event. Now he seems more lackluster.

The only thing I remember extinguishing it when it was initially released was smoke.

Stoker’s molotov has always been intended to be extinguishable with explosives and smoke.

It’s execution left a lot to be desired. Often, explosives did nothing (other than damage the player attempting to extinguish) and smoke just obscured the flames (Australian BBQ anyone?).

The explosive bug was fixed in SS2.

Couldn’t find a patchnote about the smoke, but I recall running into fire that a Redeye on my team had obscured, so either I’m crazy or it was a thing.
