Ah I see, Yeah setting the sound in windows would propably better. Not sure what windows version you use, but nowadays you can set the volume on a application basis. I would say that propably would sort out most of your problems (louder quake style hitsounds aside).

It’s been application based for a long time 
Using Windows 7 now but just upgraded my laptop to 10, might do this pc real soon.

I agree, it’d be nice to boost the sound of hit beeps so I can hear them over the gunfire and voice chat in game.
