That is a good idea.
I responded to your PM by the way.
We don’t know that for sure. There is such a thing as bluffing.
Besides, they don’t use any of the details they plunder.

So what you’re saying is that they could have the passwords and we have to rely on the morals of a group of hackers who’s morals people are already questioning?
Let’s just say that they took the passwords (I see no reason for them not to if they’re dumping data even if it’s just to be able to prove to Beth that they got them).
Now there will be a group of people with access to this data. It only takes 1 individual in that group to copy the data for their own personal reasons to have that data spread about.
Maybe he’d do it for the lols of posting “i liek boyz” from some poor guy’s account. Maybe he’d do it to sell email addresses to spam factories. Maybe he’d do it to try hack into Facebook accounts. Maybe he’d do it to sell on to other hackers as potential “email / password combinations” since we know that many people use the same email/password across multiple sites (including maybe paypal?).
To sum up: they may have our passwords and it’s possible some bell-end will abuse them.
Escapist Magazine and Minecraft.net have also been hacked.
EDIT: Eve Online servers are to/have been hit aswell.
Are these hackers targeting a certain website template? Perhaps its the template used that has cracks?
unsecured PHP websites are easily hacked using SQL injection techniques. basically you can get all the SQL data out of it. you can also root apache servers if they arent setup right.

Please either learn what you are talking about or stay quiet. There is a world of difference between a hack and a DDOS attack. Your ignorant hysteria just feeds others to panic and worry unnecessarily.
It seems that they have also gone after EPIC.
In a recent twitter feed they said something like “the DDOS party is over now”.
I saw a rumour somewhere that /b/ is going after lulzsec. Don’t know if this is true.
Surely Steam has enough bandwidthand security measures to deal with any threrats. Am i wrong in thinking that? I think i will take my CC details off anyway.
Are we standing on the brink of a hacking civil war?

All these bouts of hacking and DDOSing make me a very sad panda.
How do people think it’s moral or ok to do this?
If this were real life and someone wandered up to a store at night, jimmied the lock, took photos of the inside of the store and then dropped those in the store owner’s mailbox with a note saying “tighten your security lol” you can bet that that dude will be moving with his family and the cops will be swarming.
But because it’s online it’s somehow ok? Especially when leaking private data from innocent bystanders (our emails… luckily it wasn’t more this time)?
Like I said: sad panda. These hackers deserve CIA orgies on their front lawns.

Unfortunatley (from what i have seen) it would seem that China is the country that will lead the world in terms of military hacking.
I’d like to see the hacck the china equivilent of Senate.gov, see how smug they are with a PLA boot up their arses…
I’m confused…so if I have logged into this website to comment, then lulz has my email address, password for this forum and real name (since my email is real.name@gmail.com).
Lulz posted today:
“We’re sitting on 200,000 Brink users right now that we never gave out.”
Does this forum count as a “an account on any of Bethesda’s web sites”?
Also, will we be getting any more official news on this or is Bethesda waiting for this to go away? I really don’t care any more that Brink was disappointing, only that my personal information was left open for exploitation by an irresponsible corporation. That is the only reason that I have come back to the forum, and there doesn’t seem to be any more news about it…
It’s such a PITA that I have to create fake email accounts and use proxies just because game companies are too lazy to tighten up their crap. It’s nice to see the “how to create a fire team” sticky, but we could really use a “how to hide your identity when interacting with SD/iD/Bethesda malware” sticky.
Or, to give this sentiment a squaddie spin, they should be executed using musket balls made of their own ****.
Computer gamers condoning the actions of dickheads like this is no better than lovers of porn condoning rape. Adulation and lulz, my arse - these ****ers need a good battering, followed by a long period of incarceration as ‘Big Bubba’s Bitch’.
If these arse-bandits have passwords and haven’t released them, it’s not because they’re good lads, it’s because they haven’t got a good enough offer yet…wankers.
