Agreed. Then again, not everything is firm and some things may change during balancing, even released info (but it does seem like there’s a real effort not to release things which may change, which explains the comment about holding back on the XP awards until last).

I’d say put it in a separate section but that would ruin your orginazation, so maybe put it in a different font or something.

And they have explained that-- they wanted to dedicate their time and resources to quality rather than quantity, so there are no female characters in this game.

The game is in beta, which from my understanding is testing and tweaking the game, not adding things like new character models or new weapons or new game modes. Beta is pretty much a testing/optimizing phase.

I still find comments from people on websites that assume SD had no intention to implement female characters from the start, and then go on a rant about it - I mean, they only discussed the whole “no female characters” thing like a million times…

Yeah, there is a thread on the bethsoft forums about it that is still active. The game is in beta, let it go. Buy Brink, and hopefully a lot of other people will buy it, and we will get a sequel in a few years. Maybe the sequel will have females.

I was hoping females could be possible in DLC one day, if they ever make a sequel I’m 100 percent certain that it would have chicks. Look at Saints Row for example.

Now I’m not a chick and I have no intention of creating one in-game, so this definitely isn’t game breaking or anything. It’s just always nice when a game has customization as a feature, to see as much as possible. I’m entirely understanding of the time and resources thing though.

Most chicks I know will probably just create a guy they think is hot.

People talk about adding females in DLC - I have never seen DLC that adds such a thing.
New maps - yes
New gamemodes - yes
New skins - yes
New weapons and enemies - yes
overall game fixes - yes

I have seen all of those, but adding females as playable characters in a customization heavy game like Brink? It seems doubtful to me. All the the new models, including different body types, faces, hairstyles, clothing, etc. - then all the different textures and color options for said models - don’t forget all the new animations and sounds. It is a massive project, not to mention, the content as a whole, just doesn’t seem like something you’d see in a DLC.

Bumping this so hopefully new posters or people with specific questions can read this. We really need a sticky thread that refers to the compendium. More and more people are going to be discovering Brink in the next few months, and they will have the same questions that we all did in the months and years past.

Aye, I also seriously doubt the demand for them. The few that want it are simply very vocal. Once added they’ll move on to the next game that doesn’t feature females.

I just wonder how you’d feel if the game was based around a female only ark. Somehow I doubt the sanctimonious objection to choice would be so loud.
