Camden Lock would make a good setting: http://www.rudi.net/files/paper/illustrations/camden-market.jpg - Camden Market Garden

Also this is a great site for inspiration for stuff - http://www.derelictlondon.com/

id like to see maps based on

the shard
the tube
tower of london
one of the parks
westminster abbey
the SIS building home of MI6 aka legoland.
big ben
any large social housing block

I suppose you could make a Railgun map based on large radioactive sanitation system meant to transport the collected waste out of the red zone. Rather than actual metros the government has installed small industrial carts in the subway to easily and safely shift the waste barrels to a safer place. Things proved to be too dangerous and the project was abandoned, now the carts are being used to smuggle valuable objects out of the city.

Piccadilly Circus would be fun.

(tokamak) #25

Yeah could be similar to that venice map.

(iwound) #26

er you do know its just a road junction not actually a circus.

(H0RSE) #27

I know - they still call it that. “circus” doesn’t necessarily mean clowns and acrobats… it means “circle” which is why they call it that.

I’ve never been to Europe, but from the pics I’ve seen, it essentially just looks like the Times Square of London.

(tokamak) #28

It’s as recognisable as time square. Very iconic. Plus there’s enough going on that it isn’t just an open space. Especially when you add double deckers.

(iwound) #29

i didnt know that. strange as its not a circle.

anyway back on topic, id rather not see rehashed et maps. you can play et for that.
new game = new maps

(tokamak) #30

We actually can’t play ET for that, the game is unplayable. Hence the opportunity to revive some of that glorious geometry into this game.

(warbie) #31

Revisiting old maps that have stood the test of time sounds all good to me.

  1. ( Brit )
    a. an open place, usually circular, in a town, where several streets converge

Picadilly Circus is a very iconic area and would make for a recognisable map.

Would also like to see a flotilla of ships strapped together across the Thames under one of the Bridges allowing the players to run across the tops or work their way through a maze beneath. Perhaps the bridge is blown out and this is the only point that can be crossed in the area?

What about levels set in winter with snow and ice? It doesn’t always snow in London but sometimes it can get quite thick and then the city is completely different.

Speaking of the Thames, are there any plans to add water/swimming?

Also I’d love to make a custom map based in Leeds ha.

(iwound) #34

i to would like at least for the players to float and splash around a bit. swim would be great. doggy style even better.

lol i feel like a kid at xmas asking for a bike.
“i want clickty klackers and tassles and a big red stripe etc”

(Dragonji) #35

Don’t joke like that!

(DarkangelUK) #36

I’d like an homage or 2 to some of the quicker maps from RtCW rather than from W:ET . I like Waterloo purely for the quick pace, constant action and lack of escort mission. Something like Base was awesome in both pub and comp play, so simple yet so intense.

(tokamak) #37

I sincerely wish I was joking.

(amazinglarry) #38

Hmmm… can’t say I ever thought about trying doggy style while swimming. Put it on my bucket list!

No immediate plans AFAIK, but can probably be added at some point in time

Okay cool, even if it’s just ET:QW style paddling on surface it would be nice to see in order to have maps using rivers, canals, lakes and such, without fencing those areas off, always liked maps that contain some water sections.
