Genders in Brink
OH-MY-GOD, this was just a quick example. Really, only a example nothing more.I’m not a developer and I just wanted to say that it don’t has to be only cosmetic. The three male body types have also differen’t abilities. And women differ from males even greater, at least thats what I know.

You may say nope, the lighter ones can only carry light weapons, thats not an additional abilitie. That may be right, but you can see it also the other way, the fatties are slow, but they have the additional abilitie to carry extremely heavy weapons, to even their draw backs. So you’d need to make something in the other direction too. Maybe increase the running speed and maybe the interaction times of a very vulnerable XXS fem char. Wouldn’t that make sense?(caution, the above is only an example. caution, don’t take it to literally, caution, caution…)

And even though I don’t consider myself a great macho man I have to admit that you need to put a little sterotypical stuff into a game. Say the lighter, the faster, the more vulnerable. But to keep even the very light fem attractive to play, she needs to be better in some abilities, otherwise it would make no sense to chose a women even for female players. Again, I’m not a dev and I don’t have the time to think about every post I make for 3 years, the time it may take devs to consider all the gameplay elements.

I don’t get your problem. Whether they give it to us or not. Is it your problem, does it hurt you, I don’t understand this narrow minded naysaying. Sorry, but thats completly beyond me.
If SD would say, you can have three fem chars(light, medium, heavy) for free. Would you still reject it?
Must resist, extra healing… cos of samwich… joke…

don’t be hating on the big chicks, everyone secretly wants to play a big momma oprah

This argument comes up a lot (Genders in BRINK) and this is exactly how I feel.

Mainly why I hate this topic, is women (usually the ones I argue with about this…) say the game sucks, or SD’s being sexist or something… I can’t stand the audacity.

I don’t see why future BRINKs shouldn’t have Gender selection, but BRINK doesn’t.

Batman? This would be nice in Brink. Brink 2 FTW.

Don’t mind me, just quoting this ridiculously oversized picture once more.

(Wraith_shadow) #129

Personally i wouldn’t mind having the Gender in game. I really don’t consider the Character creator to be that indepth as stated on the first page, so why they couldn’t add the second sex is beyond me. I can easily see it being a DLC some time down the line rather than just in Brink 2. I think they’re still a little ways off of perfecting brink 1 to be thinking THAT far ahead.

(TruGamer97) #130

I wouldn’t mid the choice to make a female character in brink 2… hopefully there will be a brink 2

(Wraith_shadow) #131

a little early for that isn’t it? Personally i would hope that they add a lot more stuff to brink one before they even think about brink 2. Adding females included.

^ Five posts up is my answer. FTW

Yeah, she also works for less money per-hour than a man. This planet is ruled by men and women are treated as second-class citizens. Nothing new.
