func_door issue

(Mateos) #21

That’s why in the top of the article it is explained how to add it. Which Radiant version do you use?

(Teuthis) #22

As mateos said, you need to add the func button first, which takes 10 sec and requires updating a file (def file or ent file depending on your radiant version). To help you with this we need to know which version of the radi you are using. Then the tutorial with the sliding door will fix that problem.

(Mateos) #23

Also depending on his version I can provide a updated file, I think I have them bookmarked; Shared it several times.

1.6 should have it already btw, dunno if merlin1991 included what I sent him

(morphdoc) #24

I have 1.6.4 and it is not there.

I have sorted out the problem with the button, I no longer require it, however it would be nice to have it for the future projects

Also, what is the ebst way to test if the maps works fine? is there like a test server? Or I need to set up my own one?

(Mateos) #25

/devmap mapname locally is enough, you can even make a shortcut to directly launch the map with +devmap mapname after the EXE path

(Teuthis) #26

You can try the map by starting et, then bring down the console and type in:
/sv pure0
/g_gametype 2
/devmap nameofyourmap

Of course you will then not have company on your map but for testing purposes that’s the way. You surely don’t want to bother the et community before you are happy with your map yourself

Happy mapping

(morphdoc) #27

Yea, I have been using devmap, but I thought it is better to try out during the actuall game to look for any gliches:P

(Teuthis) #28

Might be good for you to test glitches when playing with a bunch of people but I’m afraid they will see this from a different point. They usually want to play well optimized maps and not participate in the try and error process.

(Mateos) #29

I’m sure the people of these forums can help on this point :stuck_out_tongue:

(morphdoc) #30

Sorry, you guys misunderstood me:P the map is finished, I just want to play it with bunch of people before releasing:P just to see if scripting is fine etc etc
