Free Signatures

(BioSnark) #121

I need a new signature to show off my air quotes talentz.

(Apples) #122

I was just teasing you tho!

(Seyu) #123

Is it possible to reduce this to a size that can be uploaded as a signature?

Edit: Some disco lights in the background, if that is possible, would be nice too.

I’ve been mostly ignoring this thread because I was hoping it would turn into a resource for found screenshots of Brink. This comment made me laugh and think for a moment:
Hi!
I just joined and thought I’d dump a thorough grocery list for a signature.
The fact that these guys have only 1 post (for this thread) cracks me up. I never understood why personalized forum tags are obsessed over. I have been on forums that require you to have 100 posts before you’re allowed a sig. And once a month someone new would make a new thread to keep posting until their sig privilege was unlocked or until a moderator caught on. Then forums with other requirements would usually have bimonthly beg threads for the privilege. A forum sig will make you about as famous as riding a bicycle in public.

I’m not saying you’re forbidden to critique simply because of post count. It’s just that the real topic here is Brink and both of you have joined to what seems as obsessing over sigs/art. I’m not a big believer in “everyone you see has probably lurked for months” anymore.

I finally made my own, although all of the energy was put into making the picture, and then i just cropped it and threw some text on it.

Now that this thread has been bumped back up… look at how many people posted a month ago. How many people were saying “gosh these aren’t very good” or “oh make me a sig, I have a paragraph of requirements” NONE of them have been posting anything (post count: 1) or contributing in any way. Like I cynically stated almost a month ago, they all joined to obsess over badges that are meaningless. Yet why do they register just to ask for a sig? That’s the only inclination to post now? “Oh I have a sig on this one, I should mash the keyboard more often”

(Shadowcat) #133

The fact that they responded means they were most likely lurking already. Perhaps a chance to make their account look unique with no effort on their part enticed them to post. Differentiating yourself from the crowd makes it easier on the poster to be noticed. So perhaps a siggy would make someone post more, but not for the motives you say.

But a few of the people, myself included, really don’t fit into your description at all.

(Kneepad) #134

You guys have inspired me to toss around the old gimp for a while. I’m an admitted lurker, I’ve been checking up on these forums for about a year now, nearly once a day for updates. Never posted anything yet, but I think I may just come out of hiding yet. :stuck_out_tongue:

(.TehTank.) #135

i feel proud that i brought like 20 people out of the closet … of lurking… o.O

(Kneepad) #136

There we go! how does it look? >>

(Daystar) #137

Screenshot: based on 12 (guy on left). (1st page of screenies, one up from the bottom right)
Text: just ‘Daystar’. Can be however, but I guess a futuristic and/or clean font would probably look best.
Text Colour: you can decide what fits best, preferably not a vibrant colour. Can be light or dark or tinted any which way.
Tint: Don’t tint it in a colour. You are welcome to enhance the colours, play with the contrast, or even dull the colours towards greyscale if that looks good.
Effects: not animated, but any way (violent or smooth) of blending the screenshot image out to the right could be cool. (i.e. moving to the right from the image of the guy.

Thanks a ton!
