Ehm thats where skill comes into play…
But its annoying if you only see the glimps on the horizon a FB and get shot by your team mate, because he mistakes you. Even without FF its very annoying to waste ammo on mates:cool:

I swear I’ve been blinded by flashbangs when there was a wall between it and I. So I don’t think looking away would be that helpful.
/shrug
I don’t think it’d be too difficult to make flashbangs non-FF, nor would it imbalance anything.
/shrug x2!

But if everything else in the game can cause FF why wouldn’t FB’s? I personally think it’s a cool mechanic. Aggravating at times, but simply requiring more caution in FF mode just like with frags and bullets. Even with FF off you get a brief flash if you’re an ally in the AOE.
Don’t get me wrong, not saying that it breaks the game(mode). Just questioning whether it’s necessary, or even intended.
Yep, in a scrim a few nights ago I walked around a corner to see a room full of enemies. I begin shooting at the guy closest to me and as i’m finishing him off, his name pops up above his head and it says “F8| Cynix”. I am not sure if he was flashed or not, (he doesn’t remember being flashed) but I know for %100 certainty that I was not flashed. I see no reason why I shouldn’t have been able to see his name and class icon.
My teammates commented on similar occurrences during the scrim.
If we could only record demos!!! rofl console port
I dont think they changed it, but it took a while for us to notice Before it was just another TK
I’m pretty sure that is not the case. In a 5v5 when everyone is on teamspeak you don’t have many "just another TK"s. A TK is a WTF moment, especially in this game where your teammates are (usually) so clearly identified. However we haven’t found many scrims recently, so it’s possible that the bug has existed for quite some time.
It would be also nice to know the actual conditions for the effects of the FB.
How long does the effect hold? Decreasing with distance? When does only the name tag go away?
Something is definitely weird about those friendly names that suddenly disappear, I’m still not sure if it’s related to flashbangs or not, but today I observed several odd situations. It somehow looks like only one (or a few) team mates loose it, which is probably why it generates so many team kills as well - it really looks like you got an enemy within your own gang…
In another case, it looked like my team mate lost his names a few seconds before the flashbang went off, which is probably not intended either.
I’m still pretty sure this weirdness started to show up after the last big patch, but a clarification from devs on how this is actually intended to work, would be most welcome.
The current behavior is quite confusing.
