Filesize vs Optimization
Then the big map pak will basically just be a large .zip file with all the map variations included in it.
Ehr, with a map pack I meant a pk3 with stuff for multiple maps inside - consider it another release of both maps.

However, now I think of it, this would mean that players could still have to download your map resources up to 2-3 times if they connect to different servers (once for the map pack, once for each separately packaged map).

No I actually dislike any intrusion, yet I have to think about the majority of the server visitors, and those are clearly wanting to play maps. And so that little intrusion might make their gaming experience better.

From gamestate view, one big pk3 is still my favorite… I doubt people will leave our servers alone cause of that…
For servers which only run one of the maps… well they would have best only one pk3 with that map.

Praetoria One runs great now, none has complained yet, that is amazing. Before many where complaining.

edit: the campaign file was only to make sure that the pk3 is downloaded as well when its not placed in mod folder.
To make sure that admins which fail putting it at the right place have a working map. Actually one only needs to put the common pack in the mod folder… to force the download.
