Extraction Closed Beta: first impressions

(Anti) #41

The beta build is not significantly different to alpha because of how and when the branching process for this release took place. We’ve been working on a lot of stuff, you’ll see much of it next patch, you’ll see way more over the coming month or two.

On many other games the dev/publisher will take their game offline work a week or two between alpha and beta to make these sorts of changes, we didn’t want to do that and take the game away from you folks, the downside of that is if things don’t go 100% as expected you’ll see it.

Please just bear with us.

Yeah ok I’m a bit frustrated like some others here !
Long time we give you feedbacks, and sometimes we can ask ourselves if you really care about it or if we are just bug finders, and ECO data. That’s already a good thing, but some decision you made make me really perplex.

I’m asking about server rental cause I think it’s time to check this out and find a way.

Like said before I wait for the next patch, then the Beta may be start finaly.
and about Invites beta keys for founders ?

Bomba, these things take time. We read feedback, we read questions, we can’t always replay straight away, we can’t always apply a fix straight away. It takes longer to plan and build these things than the time between your five posts in the same thread

By my post I show you some love !

Hey, I get enough stick myself!

+over 9000 in agreement.

dissapointed everytime I’ve been on all the servers have been empty (every time in the past 1.5 months or so) I did have a nice duel in a regular objective server… I was Sniping and after 15-16 kills the other player (low level) ended up leaving without saying anything…

There we have the reason why the servers are empty!!!

(biggyyyb) #50

Played on a US server last night (AU time) that was full for most of the time I was there. Have to say it is the most forgiving game I have played with a high ping (avg 300ms last night). Not sure what the experience was for other players with a low ping trying to shoot me though (no mm1 complaints anyway!).
We said that before the beta kicked off fully we’d test it with you folks. We tested it with you folks, we found issues, so before more invites go out we want to fix those issues. We’ve told you this already, I’m not sure why you think we don’t communicate.

We’ve also mentioned there is a patch in the works, with lots of changes, that will also be released soon. We’ve said that we’re fixing the servers, as have Nexon. As for rental servers we’ve not made a decision how we’ll handle that yet, but we would like for players to be able to rent their own servers. When we have final details we’ll let you know.

The beta is one day old, have a little patience please :)
Perhaps to improve communication there should be a master reply thread. Somewhere where key issues or FAQ will be updated with new information as Dev’s post it. I’m sure Badman could work out something like that.

(Hundopercent) #52

Or perhaps a timeline with when they expect xxx changes to be implemented so we have something to go by.

(Nail) #53

methinks impossible, things can change very quickly, 1 fix can trigger many non intended results

(Hundopercent) #54

Which should be expected by us. But it would be nice to know what they’re working on, what we can expect to come in the next patch etc. That would slim down the forum posts quite a bit I think. Right now we have no clue what they are working on, what’s going to be implemented, or anything really. All we know is that we need to wait and I believe we’ve been waiting for quite some time.

(Nail) #55

I think it’s one of those better to ask forgiveness than beg permission things, they try stuff and see what people say rather than ask them first and get hugely conflicting responses without actually trying the mechanic

(Humate) #56

Ended up playing on a server where everyone had the exact same ping, with player names that I could not recognise, and all of them were ranked up. Perhaps they were nexon employees or something, I do not know. What I do know is they werent very good at the game (to put it politely), and I was shocked by how much that influenced my ability to enjoy the game. So I’m hoping theres a skill rating match system in place when the servers start to fill up with more testers. /just being honest

(Nail) #57

specced a game where I didn’t recognize most. couple guys were getting kill sprees, but it looked like they were playing bots

(Hundopercent) #58

Had 3 solid players on most of today and for awhile the wins just rotated between which side had Bitey/Rline or Me/Rline. Quite a few times it felt like it was 1v5. All well, we’ve got quite the advantage on the new blood it’ll take a week or so before they understand what is going on and not just running around aimlessly. There was a moment in LB where I saw a near player on the opposite side of the attacker fence just lost running around in circles so I went on the overpass and killed him out of pity. I found it funny because I did the same ****en thing when I first started but that was before they added the wall hah.

“use bug report, this isn’t a first impression :p”

                                                    -Protect1-

I already “excused” myself for getting a bit off topic in the first post I’ve put in this thread, that I’ve opened myself. But everybody has his opinion, just like everyone has an a…hole, and some just feel the need to express that individually, even if something was already clarified. So far, so good, but giving me a Red-Star for that one is just a tiny bit over the top, wouldn’t you say?

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t care too much about the “star-system”, but there must be something thoroughly wrong with someone’s post(maybe being offensive, or stuff like that), before I’d give someone a Red-Star. In my opinion there are three levels of handling bad replies, or posts;

#1, ignoring it entirely; when it’s just not your opinion, but not totally wrong.

#2, replying too it and making clear, that you think someone is completely wrong; when you think somebody is completely wrong

#3, giving someone a Red Star; because he’s either getting personal, in an offensive way; is writting complete and utter nonsense, that only makes sense in the author’s world, or when someone writes walls of hate, or whine, with absolutely no substance, or constructive value to it.

Stuff like that, but not for just straying a little bit away from topic.

Ok folks, that’s about it in this regard. And nobody has to tell me, that the above is completely off-topic, has to give me a Red-Star for it, or has to even reply to it; I know it.

Thanks for your attention.

Best Regards
Frost
